Earlier this week I finished Signal Moon, a Kindle Short by Kate Quinn. I really enjoyed it!
I started Rivals (American Royals #3) by Katherine McPhee. I have very low expectations for this series but they're usually mindlessly entertaining. I'm going to give it a but before I decide whether to read the whole thing or skip it for now. I have quite a few other books on my Kindle that I am more interested in and this one should have already been returned.
QOTW: I enjoyed Barbie dolls but I mostly just tried to make clothes for them out of my mom's knee highs. I also loved my collection of She-Ra action figures.
Just started The Disinvited Guest by Carol Goodman, but I’m only a few pages in. Finished this week: Our Crooked Hearts by Melissa Albert and Halsey Street by Naima Coster. Both were good, not amazing.
QOTW: I remember being so thrilled to get a Cabbage Patch Kid when they were the super hot toy because a family friend had a relative in Alabama, and for some reason you could get them in Alabama. I had a pretty good My Little Pony collection, and my Monchichi was well loved.

I've been chipping away at "Last Night at the Telegraph Club" and "Lucky". Need to finish both before they expire.
QOTW: I loved Barbie, I had figure skating Barbie that I would make skate on a mirror. I was a Rainbow Brite mega fan, Moon Dreamers and My Little Pony. I was so mad when my brother cut off the ponies hair, lol.
Also, I have 7 Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and Reminders of Him (Colleen Hoover) coming up. Any recommendations for which one to read first? I don't love TJR, but someone at work loans be Hugo so I figured I'd give it a try.
charlatti , I was just telling MH about how I had a knockoff Cabbage Patch Kid a the height of the craze. Apparently there was an issue with them being flammable or otherwise toxic. My mom let me keep mine...

Vespasia, I think I had one of those. I was so mad at my parents for messing up it's hair. It was a newborn baby one, and they said it matched the way my hair looked. I was always so jealous I never had a "Cab Patch" as I called them, but I didn't know the horror of getting one.
I also remember when they came out with the premie dolls. I kept calling them "premium" because I didn't know they were premature. My mom thought that was cute, that the premies were just the best, lol.

Finished Our Crooked Hearts, The Party Crasher, and Minor Feelings. I really enjoyed the first two, and thought Minor Feelings was okay. It was an audiobook which the author narrated, which I usually think is great, but she had a very flat affect which took away from the writing itself. I think I'm going to check it out from the library and do a re-read before my bookclub.
Started Jameela Green Ruins Everything, and I hate the main character, but I think you're supposed to and I'm enjoying the overall book itself.
QOTW: What were some of your favorite childhood toys? Barbies and My Little Ponies. I probably played with Barbies for a little too long, but they were my "theater troup" and I used them to act out plays.
Guest: A Changeling Tale by Mary Downing Hahn (not my fave, Mary!)
This Is Not a Pity Memoir by Abi Morgan (if you watch The Split, this is the creator/writer of the show—her husband went into a coma and when he woke up, he thought she was an imposter!)
The Community by N. Jamiyla Chisholm (should have been essays)
QOTW: We really didn’t get toys or anything except on holidays but my grandpop surprised me with a Cabbage Patch Doll one day and I was so excited! Then he’d get me one for my birthday and Christmas every year. My mom and his sister would make us matching outfits.
