We are going Nov 12-14 and I just found out the party starts Nov 8th. I don't know why I wasn't thinking about Christmas stuff for our visit. Is it worth it?
If we don't go to the party, does that mean we won't get to see fireworks at Magic Kingdom that day?

My friends and I did the after hours last year, which was a little different from the VMCP.
My H and I are going to the Christmas party this year when we go in December, I liked the after hours event so much, lol.
They do not have regular fireworks in MK on party nights.
I think it depends on what you think your family might like. I had a ball watching the Christmas show and fireworks. The parade is so fun, the snow made me tear up. The treats are fun. The ride lines were really low when we went, but I know the parties have a tendency to be more crowded.
We didn’t have a lot of characters there due to covid, but it was so fun walking along and seeing Tweedledee and Tweedledum dancing around by the tea cups. I don’t even think anyone saw Pooh and Tigger hanging out on the porch of the Crystal Palace! I went over and got to embarrass myself all alone, lol.
I think for parties people are always like OMG BEST EVER! Or HUGE WASTE OF MONEY!
I fall a little closer to the best ever side in my limited experience.
Oh I see, I thought it was every night during the holidays. It looks like its not a party night on the day we reserved for MK so I'll look into it with H and see what he thinks.
I thought we would miss Mk fireworks and I did NOT want that!

We did the Christmas party and I am in the "waste of money" camp. The lines for rides were shorter, yes, but still long. I felt like we paid a lot of money for a little bit of hot cocoa and cookies.
We went to WDW the week before Christmas in 2018 but tickets for the Christmas party were not in our budget.
The benefit we found is that MK had light crowds during the morning and afternoon on party days. Party tickets get you in MK around 5pm, so people going to the party don't want to use up a regular admission for the first part of the day. People who don't have party tickets usually go to another park where they can stay until close. If you have 2 days to spend at MK, I'd consider spending one early day at MK on a party day.

We had an option for the Halloween party and we declined since it would be over $500 for our family to go, and we decided we would like to spend that money elsewhere.
