His ex-wife has also stated she's going after the data.
Edited to add her tweet:
I don’t fully understand how to read twitter posts, but is his XW really saying she lost her kids to this dbag?!?
That is how the tweet reads. And, it looks like there is an ongoing custody case with sealed records, so not much available. But www.insider.com/alex-jones-ex-wifewill-seek-phone-data-lawyer-messed-up-2022-8. This older piece seems to go into more of how it happened (spoiler alert, he is evil)https://www.rollingstone.com/culture/culture-news/alex-jones-custody-trial-10-wtf-moments-108404/
That sack of shit only has to pay $4.1 million. I know it’s not the money to the parents but I want him to suffer the maximum and money is probably the only thing that impacts sludge like Alex.

They’re announcing punitive damages tomorrow, so I hope to see a lot more.

If you haven’t seen this yet and need a laugh today, treat yourself.
Everything about this is perfect:
Alex Jones’s red face and fake cough He and his lawyer looking at the texts like they’ve never seen them before The judge rolling her eyes at their nonsense The families’ lawyer knowing he’s got balls nailed to a wall

All of it 😘😘😘
Legit he looks like he’s having a heart attack…I don’t think the initial red face and choking was fake.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”

(Jones' attorney) Reynal argued for a far lower sum, suggesting that the jurors should multiply Jones' purported earnings per hour of $14,000 and the 18 hours that he said Jones talked about Sandy Hook on Infowars, for a sum of around a quarter million dollars.
Like this is really a legitimate way to calculate punitive damages!
Oh, not even close. His net worth is like $200k or so. Plus he still earns a salary on his shitshow.
I was listening to The Daily on this. The reporter noted that Texas has a cap on what can be paid. He will likely pay significantly less there. But they are trying him in Connecticut this month. I hope they run him into the ground. He didn’t even have the decency to show up in court while the families testified.
I don’t understand lawyer’s obligations, but you will never be able to convince me this was an accident lol.
Soooooo...late to this, but, without a doubt this was done purposely.
Even if the attorney fucked up and sent things at an inappropriate time, which did occur once to me by a DA ( though,I work in criminal defense which is very different) in 15 years, the DA and I noted the error which was established by the judge that is could not be used in a defense prior to discovery.
This attorney made an almost fatal error then took no actions to rectify it. The fucking first thing you do is file motion after motion. This was not an accident.
This attorney may lose his law license over this and he knows it.

Could Alex appeal the ruling based on this?
I genuinely can't think of a grounds.
That's not to say there isn't one but I don't think "my attorney turned over completely relevant evidence I was trying to hide" is would go well for him.

Perhaps a true patriot.
I honestly don't know because it is weird to take on his case knowing you may be disbarred and he isn't very old.
The other major(s) thing that will also make him lose his license, is the fact he never notified Alex of the error. Your client has a right to know everything. If you hide that you will be disbarred.
The whole thing is odd. It is like this attorney is purposely committing career s.......... I won't say the word. But, this is nuts.

No, this is NOT a criminal trial. They do not get the same protective rights in a civil case.
If it was criminal, yes it would be overturned so it is a good thing it is civil
