I have straight fine hair. I was at the point where I was only washing it twice a week (up from once a week when I was using fun colors). Anyway, I recently started working out everyday. Is it possible to work out and not wash my hair all the time. My hair is a gross sweaty mess so I don't see how. I guess I could just use water. Are there any magic products I am missing? I am not that big of a fan of dry shampoo.
Also I totally meant to post this on ML but maybe people will care here lol.
I have the same problem since I run and it's just...kind of gross not to wash it. So sometimes I just get it wet and hope for the best, others I just use conditioner, no shampoo. That works ok if I'm just working out - with weights or whatever, but after a run it's just too sweaty.
I can't. But I have fine hair that is also on the thinner side so once it's up in a ponytail, workout or not, that's it. It has to at least be wet before I can style it again. And if I get sweaty, forget it. I try to use a cleansing conditioner every other day or so instead of shampoo + conditioner and I think that helps.

I have fine curly hair and have been scoping out YouTube and trying everything and...it's just too gross to not wash with shampoo after a workout. I will keep trying though.
Well this is not hopeful! lol. I can sometimes make it through one work out. Like if I wash my hair the night before, then work out, i can make it to the next day. But not much farther.
I have fine wavy hair and use this stuff when I don't want a "full wash". It's sold as shampoo but it doesn't cause my scalp to go oily like if I wash every day with regular shampoo. I condition as usual after.
I can only go every other day with washing. I workout most days.
Wash day I wear it down and straight. 2nd day after a workout I blow dry the roots (which are wet from the workout)after my shower to dry them off and use some dry shampoo. Then I normally pull it back or wear it curly. By the end of the day my roots are looking oily. I have fine hair and I think that is part of the reason.
Probably not helpful because my hair is curly/wavy, but I just let the sweat dry between washes. My head sweats a lot, too, so I wear thick headbands.
Same. My hair actually dries fairly normally at the roots after workouts (but its on the thicker / wavy side), but if I look particularly greasy I just put on a thick headband. I work out almost daily and wash every 3rd day.
I workout daily and have fine, thin hair. I also am the sweatiest human alive; when I workout you can literally ring my ponytail out, it is so sweaty. So unfortunately, I need to wash it daily.

This is me too, and I have yet to figure anything out that isn’t a full wash. Sorry.
I don't work out regularly, LOL, but if it's been quite the night of hot flashes, I will put this on my roots/sides and then hit it with the dryer on cool.
I don't have a recommended product, but found a ton of links when i searched, "clean scalp without washing hair." You might do a similar search. It's about keeping your scalp clean after sweat builds up. Some recommendations included conditioning gels, witch hazel, a way of cleansing just the roots, and more. Good luck!
I have curly thick hair and I can’t wash it every day. I use a dry shampoo when I work out and I wash it when I’m super sweaty but usually only 2-3 times a week.

Washing sweaty hair with just water is not good. It smells awful (at least on me — it smells like a wet dog.)
I do sometimes use just conditioner without shampoo because shampoo is what strips the natural oils. (Plus, water is pretty drying in general — think about what it does to your skin — so you might as well use some product.)

Same. I have to shower, and at least co-wash after a workout.

I have the same type of hair and I condition every day and wash every other. I use mousse to hold my curls and it doesn't look greasy.
If you don't like dry shampoo then I'm not sure you can get away with it. I have very fine and some what thin hair. I use the cool setting on my blow dryer to dry my hair from sweat. I always go into a workout with dry shampoo on my hair and then reapply again after blow drying. I can go 3 days without washing. Redken dry shampoo is the best and I've tried them all. Legit.

Hmmmm I would like to try this, I don't think I've seen that tip anywhere I've looked so far!

Too funny, I just saw this thread but it’s my #1 tip, dry shampoo pre-workout! Or even just corn starch or baby powder pre-workout, whatever you might normally use.
Same-vein-tip: dry shampoo at night if you don’t plan to wash the next morning. It absorbs oil and such overnight and makes styling easier.
I think it depends a lot on where you live and your hair type. It took me a couple of years to get down to washing once a week, but I live in a dry climate. I do rinse and use conditioner a couple of times a week in addition.
I have fine hair and live in a humid climate, I wash my hair 1-2 a week. I use a salt scrub for my hair on the days I wash it which has helped tremendously, I also use dry shampoo but it took me a long time to find the right one for me, I found a volume one that works well

I have fine, thin hair and only wash twice a week after years of harassment from my hair lady. Lol. I do workout every day though. In between washes I rinse my hair and add leave-in conditioner when I'm done (rosemary oil and then a biotin spray).

If I need to wet it between washes and I'm working out (I have fine curls), then I condition wash it. Washing it every day would make my hair dry and roots greasy. I can usually get away with also allowing it to dry and just pull it back in a pony tail.

Also, depending on my wash schedule, I sometimes just keep my hair in a ponytail all day after a workout/shower, if I don't have to look presentable for a client.
