I have one kitchen wall that has nothing on it -- no cabinets, no appliances, nothing. It's about 11 ¼ feet long.
You can see some cabinets and a small coffee area on the adjoining wall (the kitchen "island" -- which is two small Ikea islands -- doesn't meet the coffee area counter). Opposite the blank wall is a window, more cabinets, the oven, sink, dishwasher and refrigerator.
We don't need more cabinets. I've never bothered with art before, because we rented and wanted to minimize holes in the walls (more out of laziness of having to fill and paint over them when we moved out).
I am having trouble envisioning the traffic flow patterns from that one pic, but I would be hesitant to put anything on the green wall that has any depth because I assume people walk along there?
I have never had a wall like that in a kitchen, so IDK. I need to paint the rest of my kitchen, and it's going to take a lot more time than paint because there will be very little rolling. It's all cabinets, appliances, doorways, etc.

I think I decided on artwork -- I found a digital artist who has a series of 20 herbs in watercolor style. I'll probably get 12 of them, have them printed and framed, and do two rows of 6.

—Floating shelf for small kitchen-y collectibles and a couple of plants that can tolerate indirect light? especially trailing ones, like pothos
—Magnetic paint, so you could play around with photos, postcards, fun magnets, whatever? (Disclaimer: I have no idea if this stuff actually works but it sounds cool) Alternative to the above would be putting up some cork covering a relatively large area, like with tiles - ie not a cork board
—We have a gallery wall going of framed menus from our favorite restaurants in our dining room

I love these ideas, especially the menu gallery! Or even chalkboard paint might be fun.
