I was looking at this adorable cleaning checklist thing on Pinterest.
She has it divided into daily, weekly, monthly tasks.
Under monthly it says "Mop floors"
Now, my floors are not spotless. And I DO have a child, a pet, and a lot of traffic coming into my house above the average. But there is no freaking way I could get away with mopping once a month. I mop my kitchen every couple of days, and the rest of the house once a week and honestly I should do it more often than that.
If it was just me and DH, ok...maybe I could only mop some areas once a month but my bathroom and kitchen for SURE could not go that long.

Maybe she means a complete and total mop? I sweep our floors with the quick-mop about 1x per week and do a total scrub (hands/knees/bucket/etc) about every 3 months.
Yeah I rarely mop the floors. I'm more of a sweeper/spot cleaner/super scrub down 4 times a year. Our floors aren't really dirty though, even with 4 adults 2 kids and 2 bunnies in the house.
Yeah..that's ick and the Clean Police would have a field day in my house more often than I care to admit.
You know my life story. I could hands and knees scrub every other day and it still wouldn't be good. I sweep/vac and use a spray Mop or a rag on and old swiffer every other day or so..and I could do it everyday...and sometimes I do...and it's still nasty..lol.
I do a hands and knees scrub about once every other month...I just don't care that much anymore!

It a min of once a week here, more in the spring with the dogs tracking in mud and everything else! No kids, but two large dogs and we live on a farm so my fiance doesn't come in the cleanest from work either haha

Eh, we have two adults, no kids or pets, and a shoes off in the house rule. Our hardwoods can look good for about three weeks, so I could see a month as a distant possibility for some.

We have 2 adults, 2 babies and 2 dogs and I don't clean the floors that much. If something spills, I clean it up. If I notice some spots, I clean them up. If the floor just seems like there are a lot of little spots everywhere, I use the Swiffer. I admit that I have never gotten on my hands and knees and scrubbed them and we have been here 4 years. They are hardwood and look beautiful and no one ever has dirty socks from walking on them. I do sweep them pretty regularly b/c of the dogs' fur.

Two adults, no kids, no pets. We mop the kitchen & bathrooms once a month (unless I spill something while cooking!), and sweep/swiffer about twice a week.
90% of the time we take our shoes off as soon as we get in the house. Definitely if it's raining or snowing.
I think it depends on full mop or swiffer mop. We swiffer wet jet it twice a week but only hands and knees scrub it about once a month. It's only DH and I and two cats and we take our shoes off in the laundry/mud room before entering the rest of the house. We wipe up when we spill things also.
Until we had someone come to clean, I rarely mopped floors. We are just the two of us, clean spills up immediately, don't wear shoes in the apt, and don't have pets. That said, I can tell the difference now that we are getting the floors mopped regularly.

Its just DH and I (and 2 cats) and we dont even own a mop. We do use a Swiffer wet jet once every 3-4 weeks. Our floors do not get very dirty. Even when we do Swiffer the floor, it is just to say we did rather than because it seems to need it. FWIW, we are not home a lot and we dont wear shoes in the house. Also, we clean up messes as they happen and sweep as needed. We do vacuum the carpet every week though.
We mop every Sunday, and sometimes have to spot mop throughout the week. I cannot imagine only mopping once a month. They must be abnormally clean people.
