My reading was very uneven. Either I was zooming though books or it took me days to get through something easy.
I have possibly lost my mind and got a digital card to like a third and fourth MD library system because I noticed when I googled some titles my usual libraries didn’t have they kept popping up as owning digital copies. I really am off reading physical books so I want to draw from a bigger pool.
The New Neighbor by Karen Cleveland (not good)
One's Company by Ashley Hutson (strange but ok)
Lovely Girls by Margot Hunt (ok but had a very silly finale twist)
Wrong Place, Wrong Time by Gillian McAllister (really more of a romance??)
NSFW by Isabel Kaplan (oddly lightweight and forgettable)
What's Coming to Me by Francesca Padilla (eh)
The Family Remains by Lisa Jewell (She actually tweeted to me that this is the last one about this house/family and I am glad)
You're Invited by Amanda Jayatissa (ok mystery, fun location)
All Good People Here by Ashley Flowers (a little predictable and had a cliffhanger)
Grocery Shopping with my Mother by Kevin Powell (very pop culture heavy for a book of poems)
Apple Crush by Lucy Knisley (I continue to dislike Knisley’s family)
Hokuloa Road by Elizabeth Hand (bad ending but a fun book)
Dear Fran, Love Dulcie: Life and Death in the Hills and Hollows of Bygone Australia Published by Victoria Twead (this was a wild ride, I thought something was weird the whole time but still wasn’t prepared for the afterward)
The Soulmate by Sally Hepworth (a lot of twists but I felt like they let one thread drop)
High School by Tegan and Sara Quin (the OG teenage dirtbags. I think this is being made into a movie?)
Meet Me by the Fountain: An Inside History of the Mall by Alexandra Lange (uneven)
The Counselors by Jessica Goodman (solid, glad I never went to camp)
Acts of Violet by Margarita Montimore (cute! I enjoy sister drama)
The Boys by Katie Hafner (strange twist but easy to figure out)
Brownsville by Jake Allen (illustrator) and Neil Kleid (writer) (ok)
They'll Never Catch Us by Jessica Goodman (solid, glad I was never on the track team)

Something Wilder by Christina Lauren - 3* The Hidden Palace (The Golem and the Jinni #2) by Helene Wecker - 4* What You Wish For by Katherine Center - 2.5* Out of the Corner by Jennifer Grey - 3* Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt - 4*
Kismet by Amina Akhtar All the Tides of Fates by Adalyn Grace Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin Dark Waters by Katherine Arden More Than You'll Ever Know by Katie Guitierrez Acts of Violet by Margarita Montimore All The Murmuring Bones by AG Slatter
Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow was incredible. I rated it 5* but wish I could have gone higher. The books I read later in the month definitely suffered by comparison.
Kismet and All the Murmuring Bones both exceeded my expectations. More Than You'll Ever Know was the biggest disappointment but not terrible or anything.
5 stars: The Measure by Nikki Erlick The basic premise is what would happen if everyone at the same time could choose to find out how long their lives will be. I really loved this and highly recommend it.
3.5 stars: The Icepick Surgeon: Murder, Fraud, Sabotage, Piracy, and Other Dastardly Deeds Perpetrated in the Name of Science by Sam Kean Really interesting look at historical figures in science who did some terrible things. Minus points mainly for repeated references to the author's website and podcast
2.5 stars: The Exile's Curse by M.J. Scott Fantasy romance that is very skippable
2 stars: The Bodyguard by Katherine Center Contemporary romance that commits the cardinal sin (for me) of making a female character have a job that is in a male dominated industry and then make her really terrible at said job
Visually read: Lessons in Chemistry 4* White Ivy 2* (I kept pushing Thru, but the main character was insufferable) The Nineties 4* (This one took me about a month, but I appreciated the perspective on things I was to immature to understand at the time, especially political). Our Woman in Moscow 4*
Audio read: Ordinary Grace 4*
Most of my 4* this month would probably be 3.5 in goodreads if that was an option
