Happy Friday! What have you been reading this week? Any ratings/reviews/recommendations?
QOTW: In honor of labor day weekend in the US, would you rather work more hours and less days (say 4 days/10 hours) or less hours and more days (5 days/8 hours)?
I finished All Good People Here by Ashley Flowers, 2*. I'm currently reading The Colony by Audrey Macgee. The writing style is different- I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. It's been a quick read thus far.
Qotw: Pre-kids I would have picked more hours and fewer days. Now I'd love something that works around my kid's school schedule.
I’m reading Indigo Gurl and Listening to Diamond Eye. I had to pause Lilac Girls, too much sadness and WWII historical fiction at once. Indigo girl is a nice change in time periods.
QOTW: Neither? I barely have enough time in my life to get in 8 hours 5x a week, 10 hours 4x a week is great with no kids but much harder with.
I’m reading Other Birds by Sarah Addison Allen. It's fine and interesting enough but I’m not excited about it.
QOTW: fewer hours. I work part time now, five days with four hours in the morning. When I was full time I was still finished fairly early in the day, and that definitely is better for me than long days.
I have been in a reading slump after a great first half of August. I just read Something Wilder by Christina Lauren as a quick palate cleanser and hope to find something good to dive into. I’ll look at this post for suggestions
QOTW: I really wish the work week could be four 9s. 10 hours is too much, but I can do 9.

Finished The Spanish Love Deception and Black Cake. Disliked both.
Started The Wedding Season and Sea of Tranquility. So far, both are better.
QOTW: In honor of labor day weekend in the US, would you rather work more hours and less days (say 4 days/10 hours) or less hours and more days (5 days/8 hours)? more hours, less days. I feel like I already put in the long hours, so it'd be nice to have full days off to compensate.
I am currently reading "I'm Glad My Mom Died" by Jennette McCurdy which is surprisingly really interesting, especially considering that I have never seen iCarly or anything else she has been in.
Finished reading: "The Babysitter: My Summers with a Serial Killer" by Liza Rodman - 3.5 stars, it's kind of a half memoir, half true crime novel "Soul Taken" by Patricia Briggs (#13 in series) - 3 stars, good beginning and ending but kind of meh middle
QOTW: I would prefer to work more hours and fewer days. Or rather I would just really like to permanently have a three day weekend.
I've been reading Carrie Soto is Back. When tacokick read it a while back her description was "so much tennis." Boy was she not kidding. I have zero interest in tennis so I really don't know why I am still reading.
QOTW: In theory I would prefer 4 10s but I don't think I could ever have a set day free of appointments.

I'm finally coming out of my reading slump. I made good progress on Where the Crawdads Sing, although I'm still worried if I'll finish before it expires.
QOTW: 4 (9) or 10's all the way. I work a lot of hours and find I don't have a lot of bandwith on Friday's. I'd also like a whole day to get apts, chores and errands done, then have real time off on the weekend.
