So, we now have a new PM, Liz Truss. She is the biggest at flipping between ideas as long as they fit with those in power, is unable to speak in interviews with any authority and is generally a dimwit (I'm being kind here). I mean, even Russian state-controlled TV has reacted to news of Liz Truss becoming Britain's new prime minister by telling viewers "stupidity has triumphed".
We did not elect her. She was chosen by the few who spend money to be part of the Tory Party. She is meant to remain in power until the next general election in 2025. Here's a visual to help understand the ridiculousness of it all:
Let's hear a bit about some of her new Cabinet ministers:
Chancellor: Kwasi Kwarteng - voted for stricter asylum rules - votes for more mass surveillance - voted against measures for climate change
Home Secretary: Suella Braverman -voted against gay marriage - consistently attacks human rights - wants to reduce Judicial powers over the Gov't. - voted against the rights of EU nationals living in the UK - votes consistently against benefits for those in need - votes against climate tackling items She may be worse than Priti Patel and that's saying something. Definitely further right wing and awful.
Deputy Prime Minister & Health Secretary: Therese Coffey - opposes abortion - she is very pro-Brexit - voted against equal gay rights - voted against laws to promote equality and human rights etc - is a huge drinker and cigar smoker and is completely tone deaf when it comes to speaking about people struggling
Foreign Secretary: James Cleverly pretty much the same as Kwasi
I’m so sorry. This is devastating. My trans friends over the pond are terrified and I’m just so so sad.
I'm quite certain that this will be a huge topic of conversation with my trans clients this autumn/winter. I don't blame them for being terrified, and I hope they know that many of us (hopefully a majority) will continue to fight by and on their side.

An update: Jacob Rees-Mogg, who decried ‘climate alarmism’, to take on UK energy brief
Minister expected to add climate change to role after Liz Truss fails to hire dedicated energy minister
Green Tories admitted concerns that Rees-Mogg’s expanded brief signals that Truss, who has supported scrapping green levies and bringing back fracking, will not regard the climate breakdown as an emergency and therefore not treat it as a priority.
Rees-Mogg has claimed that “climate alarmism” is responsible for high energy prices and that it is unrealistic for scientists to project future changes to the climate because meteorologists struggle to correctly predict the weather.

Further updated: Chief Economic Advisor - Matthew Sinclair. He was a director at Deloit and former head of the Taxpayers' Alliance. That sounds like a good thing, but it's not. The TA is a libertarian group. Their aim is to slash government spending. They hate gov't. They don't believe in the NHS. They think pensions and care provision should be provided privately. They hate taxes. Many people are going to die this winter and in the future if their vision of the UK comes to fruition.
My UK colleagues are complaining about electricity/ heating prices. Even well paid people are concerned about heating their homes in the winter. Is this going to cause some kind of revolt? Can an election be moved up if a government is so unpopular?

Revolt? possibly unless they put something in place, which they may (which likely will push the problem back a few years and then they can blame someone else). Very difficult to move the election up unless the Tory party decides to call it.
