They created a trust to uphold their environmental values for the company (now that they're no longer in charge) and paid a lot of taxes* so it could continue to lobby to fight climate change.

I read this earlier and think it is amazing. I love how he is described as a simple man who never wanted a company or be rich. Even his kids don’t want it. I’m sure they are all set for life of no worries and still gave away the company. I appreciate how he chose not to go Public because he wanted to take care of his employee environment. I think I’ll go buy a Patagonia jacket or something now
I’m a huge Columbia fan. Like most if my outdoor wardrobe. This may make me switch over.
Their casual wear doesn't always fit my style, but I love their performance gear.
Do you know if they size inclusive? Like, is an XL sized like a M? I hate shopping for outdoor stuff because, it seems if you hike, you must be small. Last time I was in REI, I had to run out before I started crying over sizing. Nothing larger than a 12.

Lurker chiming in: I don't personally own any Patagonia because I need tall sizes for my ridiculously long arms, but my husband buys his true size in everything he owns from the company.

There used to be a poster that I can't remember their name but they worked for Patagonia and had nothing but great things to say about the company and ownership . Their posts made me a Patagonia fan and switched to their items.

They also have an amazing warranty! The zipper broke on my 10 yo rain jacket. I asked about repair and after talking to them, they replaced it with a new jacket!

Yes! I remember this. It was a post about office culture and she said that someone spotted a chrysalis formed in a stairwell and they closed the entire stairwell off until the butterfly emerged and everyone in her building was like “well yeah, obviously. Makes sense.” Lol

From what I have looked at, no, things just go up to XXL.
I still love what he did and have supported Patagonia in the past by buying things like baseball caps, but yeah, I feel like in general outdoor wear is some of the worst for being size inclusive.
And while it's a step in the right direction, companies that only offer up to 3X are not inclusive either. I would love to see them all offer at MINIMUM up to 6x and ideally beyond that. As someone who wears mostly a 4X and loves to hike and bike, it really sucks to not be able to find clothing to wear for these activities that fits me.
