I finished Remarkably Bright Creatures, which I really loved. I thought it sounded annoying sweet (an old lady befriends an octopus?) but it was really well done and not treacly at all, IMO. Now reading All That’s Left Unsaid, which is very good so far.
QOTW: I think smarter, assuming it can be a well-rounded sort of intelligence. I think I’m a pretty intelligent person but I have plenty of gaps (like physics — why did I never study physics? I always wish I knew more about how things work).
Paper Girls: Deluxe Edition Book Three by Brian K. Vaughan, Cliff Chiang, Matt Wilson, Jared K. Fletcher, and Dee Cunniffe (bad ending the show is so much better and I think canceled)
When We Were Bright and Beautiful by Jillian Medoff (I had some mixed feelings about this)
Everything I Know About Love: A Memoir by Dolly Alderton (ok, she sounds exhausting, the show and her novel was better)
Dele Weds Destiny by Tomi Obaro (ok)
The Lonely Stories: 22 Celebrated Writers on the Joys & Struggles of Being Alone Edited by Natalie Eve Garrett (ok)
The Housekeeper by Joy Fielding (depressing and the ending was abrupt and bad)
Ayoade on Ayoade: A Cinematic Odyssey by Richard Ayoade (so bad!! A real disappointment)
How Not to Drown in a Glass of Water by Angie Cruz (good)
The Year of the Horses: A Memoir by Courtney Maum (one of those memoirs where they are telling on themselves possibly without realizing it)
The Weight of Blood by Tiffany D. Jackson (a homage to Carrie, unexpectedly)
QOTW: taller because I am already smart and funny! But I can’t quite reach the top of my kitchen cabinets.
I finished The Last to Vanish by Megan Miranda, 2.5*. It was interesting enough to finish, but that was about it. I started Out of the Easy by Ruta Sepetys. I think I have read all of her books now.
QOTW: I agree with Charlatti - a more well rounded intelligence. I would love to be multilingual, but foreign languages have always been very difficult for me to grasp.
I finished I Must Betray You by Ruta Sepetys. I highly recommend for you and anyone in the teen range. Powerful and well written.
I’m in the middle of remarkably bright creatures (audio) and the bodyguard. I’d been reading some pretty communist/war heavy books lately, needed to change it up.
QOTW: If funnier means I’d feel less socially awkward then I’d do that. Otherwise smarter.
I finished reading Heart of Lies (#7 in series) by Lisa Edmonds - 3.5 stars, good paranormal romance/urban fiction series that reminds me a lot of the Kate Daniels series.
Currently reading: The Office BFFS by Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey (I love the show The Office, so this is enjoyable) Ledge by Stacey McEwan (fantasy romance, just started so no opinion yet) Carrie Soto is Back by Taylor Jenkins Reid (just started so no opinion yet but I know nothing about tennis haha)
QOTW: I would choose to be taller because I'm quite short and I am comfortable with my current level of intelligence and humor.
