We’re getting ready to move DD (almost 3) into a new bedroom with a bed and new furniture, and we’re going to paint anyway. I’m not really concerned about longevity in terms of her outgrowing it (I assume we’ll repaint eventually when she’s older) but I’m curious about how it goes on, lasts, etc. I’m getting a sample of BM lavender mist today to see how that looks, so theoretically it’ll be something close to that that we’re adding too.
I cannot imagine how difficult it would be to sand it off when you want to repaint. Since the wall is no longer flat, you won't be able to just repaint over it.
I realized that when we did stripes in the nursery, but we moved before it was an issue of repainting.

Hmmmmm. I don’t know how much that will matter to me/us (not being sarcastic, I’m just not generally very observant when it comes to stuff like this 😑). It’s also available in a microfine size that’s 0.1mm, too, which I didn’t see before. That might make it less of an issue? All of our walls are slightly textured as is, not sure if that’s from the rollers used, or the actual walls themselves, and whether that would make a difference . I don’t really want to buy a sample size but I guess I could.
There’s less than zero percent chance of us sanding walls … ever.
There is NO chance I would consider adding glitter/sparkle to walls. None. #notacoolmom I'm just not willing to deal with the labor on the back end when you're ready to no longer have sparkle/glitter walls. There are a million other ways to introduce sparkles, rainbows, and other fun decor that don't involve creating huge sanding projects for you 5 years from now.
My kid wants a wild color room? Ok, I'm down. But it has to be paint that can be covered with regular old paint. If I will need to get out my random orbital sander to fix it later, it's not happening now.
I have! It was very easy to paint over. The glitter is incredibly thin. It looked really cute on the walls too.
Do you know what brand you used??? This is v encouraging 🙂
Susie I totally get it. There’s zero chance of us doing anything more intensive than painting over it in the future. I’m really struggling with decorating on a budget, so this seemed like an easy win. Reality tbd, clearly!!!
Life is too short to worry about repainting before you even start this job, so I say go for the sparkles! You’re using a product designed for walls. It’s not like you’re just adding craft store glitter to a gallon of paint. She’s a lucky girl & I’m sure she will absolutely love it, so have fun with it!

I want to say Hemway but I’m not 100%
I have used premixed glitter Rust-Oleum too and that was easier to use. They really push that is it easy to paint over.
