Daylight Saving Time - isn't it permanent now?

I can't seem to find the thread on here talking about it earlier this year.  But I thought DST was a permanent thing now?  I'm seeing countdowns to the end of DST on the morning news channels.

I thought it took effect _next_ summer, not this one. And, I don't think I remember hearing that both houses had passed it...

It would take effect November 2023. It passed the Senate, has not been brought for a vote in the House. www.congress.gov/bill/117th-congress/senate-bill/623

They're just dicking around with it, it hasn't been made into law yet.

Jalapeñomel , oh now I remember that thread! I forgot how controversial it is! I'm from MA so I would *love* keep DST year round. It is so depressing in December when the sun sets at like 3:30 PM. Are there any plans for the House to vote on it or is it dead?

Our sleep is so messed up every year from the time changes. I hate it!

WA voted to stay in permanent DST, but it won't go into effect until the House passes the law allowing it. Here's a local newspaper article about it.

I thought this went into effect with the last time change and now I’m wicked bummed. I seriously thought multiple times about how much I hate the changing of the time.
