A's 9 month appointment is coming up and I'm going to talk to her Dr about formulas. My freezer stash is dwindling. I have about 10 bottles in there. I only work 2 days a week but when I pump in the morning I bring that bottle with us to the Y, so I'm just not keeping up my stash. It's going to be gone before 12 months. She's used to solids so hopefully the formula won't upset her stomach. That's my main worry. I'm actually a little comforted by the formula thing - since I'm always worried about her iron that will be nice. But I don't want her belly to hurt. I've had some friends have a tough time finding a formula that works for their baby. Dreading the trial and error.

I supplemented occasionally with Beckett as needed (like if i had to work and just didn't have enough pumped to get through the day) and actually gave Maisy a small formula bottle nightly after i nursed due to weight problems early on, and I just used whatever I had sample cans of. I switched brands, and I never had a single issue with sensitivity. Mostly I just used Similac because that was what my pedi gave me tons of sample cans of, but it didn't matter if i used a different brand. Hopefully Amelia won't have any issues with whatever you try.
MacKenzie didn't have any problems with any of the formulas we gave her. She was exclusively FF. After talking with the doctor, they said all regular formulas are basically the same. She recommended the Sam's Club brand because it was cheaper, bigger, and was virtually the same as similac and enfamil. I plan to eventually supplement with Madeline, and we will use up my sample cans and switch to that. Good luck

D's pedi told me the same thing. I've been going back & forth between enfamil & similac because I keep getting coupons in the mail.
My friend who had the c section complications had a problem with her baby having a milk allergy so they finally got the baby on a special formula, but all this was going on with her in the hospital in serious condition. It was sucky. Maybe that's not so common. Someone H works with also took his baby to urgent care a couple times and it was all having to do with the formula. I think there's a lot of bs there though.
Milk protein allergy here When I started supplementing we used Similac and everything seemed fine. When she was exclusively FF it started out well too but then she started having issues and to Similac Sensitive and then we ended up with Nutramigen after we discovered the mpa. Good luck!

Yes, that's the formula her baby takes Super expensive, spends close to $40/week! Sorry you're dealing with that. On the bright side, I've heard its an allergy they can grow out of.
I thought we were having formula problems with MacKenzie as well when she was only a few months old. I went onto soy and she got so constipated. Did all the ready made stuff and the powder stuff. Our next step was alimentium, but we finally found out she had gerd and not a milk allergy. I was so thankful to only have to pay $10.00 every few months for Ranitidine and not whatever it costs per can of alimentium.
