TL;DR: Using closet doors for a doorway into an office
My office is a “den” off the foyer. It has a door on the back side to the kitchen/laundry, and I can close that when there is noise coming from that direction. But the other entry is just a 36 inch wide door way. I would love to have a door there. For noise and just to isolate me from other things. Maybe sometimes to keep the dog out of my zooms 😂 Barn and pocket doors are not on the table. Pocket because of dealing with opening up the wall. Barn because this isn’t the style house for one.
But… there isn’t really room for a swing door. No good place for it to be open. And, the path between the kitchen and foyers is used a lot as a general path. It’s a more direct route from kitchen to bedrooms, although only slightly more direct. Like, it’s always a mental debate about going through the office or the living room.
So that’s all what is going through my head. If it were a wider opening with more space, traditional French doors would be my choice. I went looking for what I was thinking in my head, and I kind of found it. It a closet door. Something like this: www.renin.com/us/closet-doors/euro-3-lite-design-pivot-door/
Pros: the style I want, cost is reasonable Cons: will forever see them as close doors? Probably will do little to nothing for noise.
I think that would look nice - it’s basically French doors with a 36” opening. I see a ton of results on google with that description, and they all look just fine.
I think I’m going for it! And, if you can’t tell, yes, I am all over the place with things I want to do 😂 The benefit of having an unemployed husband who knows how to do all of this.

My in laws have french doors leading into an office space. I'm not sure of the width of the door, but it does make the doorway appear smaller. They did it because space wise a full door would have blocked part of the space into their stairs and the office is a smaller room so they didn't want one to open into the office.
Agree that looks fine! We installed 48" french doors in our office upstairs. They definitely cut down on the noise, it's nice to have the ability to close off the room.
