I just popped myself a small bag of popcorn for an afternoon snack. The instructions include the following:
"Stop microwave when popping slows to 1 to 3 seconds between pops or you smell scorching."
Really? Who's going to leave scorching popcorn in the microwave? Or more particularly, are the people who commonly burn popcorn REALLY going to read the instructions?
I literally cannot make popcorn to save my life. I burn it every.single.time. The only way I can make it is with an actual popcorn-maker. That is so embarrassing to admit!

I just put it in for 3 minutes if it's the small bag and 5 minutes if its the large bag and listen for the popping to slow down. Mom taught me that trick when I was about 4 years old and it's never failed me.
Our microwave burns the crap out of the small bags on the microwave setting. H learned this last year. **gag**
