Interesting. I had no idea Live Nation and Ticketmaster are the same thing. I read briefly that Ticketmaster buys and resells the tickets all by itself. I've been looking for Pentatonix tickets and was wondering why so many are resale. Like almost entire rows. It doesn't seem like a concert that large amounts of people who bought tickets suddenly need to resell them. Unless there are bots at work buying and reselling which is also possible.

It’s not that hard to put limits on the resale market.
The bots and resale market are ridiculous for any event.
I think the TS tour had a lot of things happening that ended up in a perfect storm, but it’s frustrating buying tickets to any event now and not feel like you’re getting screwed or scammed.

When I was trying to renew my passport, I was reading the rules on how to renew onsite at a Passport Agency. It talked about how you have to call for an appointment because when they offered online appointments, people or bots were booking them just to resell the appointments. So many things feel unfair or rigged these days, it was like a tiny moment of fresh air that the government had actually put in a system utilizing employed humans to get around the bots.

I only heard about it recently. Ticketmaster merged with or absorbed every other company so they are *basically* a monopoly and the Government needs to intervene.
Eta for article about class action lawsuit from January.
