Yes. We were traveling to Florida to see the IL’s and my parents for Thanksgiving. They are both snowbirds, but the IL’s haven’t left Boston as they have rebound covid(they tested positive a few weeks ago got on the antiviral tested negative and felt better and then tested positive again with symptoms a week after stopping the medication.) We were able to switch our flight to an airport closer to my parents, but there is a very good shot we won’t see them on this trip.
My husband tested positive for Covid today. He is isolating, but I’ll be surprised if the rest of us stay clear. Either way, we don’t plan to see anyone for thanksgiving.
I have ingredients for 8 pies, so maybe we will just eat pie for lunch and dinner.
My mother fell two months ago. She was going to host. Instead she can barely move around but we hope to transport her to my brother's place. It will be one of the few times she's left the house that wasn't a doctor's appointment.

Maybe. A couple people (different households) are mildly unwell, but negative for COVID... so far. So we're still hoping for everyone being better by Thursday.
My daughter was feeling cruddy on Saturday, tested negative, but stayed home from a Friendsgiving we had planned that night. Then woke up yesterday burning up and coughing- still negative, but she definitely has a nasty virus of some kind. I don’t think it’s flu- she’s totally fine once her Tylenol kicks in. So far everyone else is fine, but she’s been sleeping in my bed for 2 nights now so who knows.
Yes we have tentatively pushed Thanksgiving till Saturday since
@@@@@@ My DS tested positive Saturday and was feeling ill Friday. He had to have emergency surgery the week before and was hospitalized so I’m not surprised he picked it up there. But this means the 11 relatives who were driving or flying in had to amend plans.
Fingers crossed no one else gets it and we have to cancel everything. Sigh

The week is still young. Between my sister’s family and my family we have two toddlers cycling through every illness on earth so 95% of plans have been canceled since August.
Sort of, but more of the physical health issues related to aging. My dad developed a bad limp last week and needs to elevate his foot/knee every few hours (no idea why, because he won't go to the doctor). We have a two-story house, and between the fact that the 8-hour car ride would be a nightmare for him and our stairs represent a very real fall risk (he has a TBI and fractured vertebrae in his neck from a bad fall off a roof a few years ago -- another fall could kill him), he and my mom decided that they can't come for T-Day though they had planned to.
My grandfather, who is 90, has suddenly deteriorated very quickly as well and is now in a nursing home, and my mom isn't comfortable being far away from him, either, so that contributed, too.

Not so far but there are still days left. A year ago the 18th we got covid for the first time and ruined Thanksgiving 2021 lol. So hopefully no repeats.
Not yet, but we don't leave for my parents until Wednesday. DD said she had "a fingernail in her throat" on Saturday, but she was fine this morning. Even with a cold, we are probably still going. I worry about exposing them to stuff but my dad has been struggling with his health, he is having mystery neurological symptoms. Based on his symptoms, the doctors suspect something pretty serious that usually begins in a person's 40s and has a 10-20 year life expectancy from symptom onset, my parents are dragging their feet on the genetic testing. Dad is almost 84, and looking back has probably had some of these symptoms more mildly for a good 10 years, so I don't know how much longer we have if it's this thing, so sick or not I want to spend as much time with him as possible.

Yes. I tested positive for covid last week, and now my H has symptoms. We weren’t going to see family this year, but our other plans have changed. So no seeing friends, no other fun plans that involved crowds.

I won’t click the poll until Thursday morning lol. So far, so good in our house and we are hosting 20 people, so it will suuuuuck if we ruin everyone’s plans if at least one of us gets sick.

I checked Maybe but I think that’s wildly optimistic.
@my 13YO started coughing last night, and I’ve kept him out of school today. I haven’t COVID tested him yet because his only other symptom is his throat hurts when he swallows (no fever or anything else really). Even if he’s better by Thursday, it won’t matter.
I am supposed to be cooking for my elderly uncle on Wednesday, and obviously I won’t have him come over if there’s anyone sick. Then we are going to stay overnight Thursday near my SILs so we don’t have to cross the bay bridge Thursday night to come home. I have until tomorrow to cancel our hotel reservation so our Thursday plan will probably be out the window. THe only upside is at least I will be prepared to cook for all of us.

That was my only symptom when I had Covid. And I had tested negative at first. I was going to go in for a strept culture when I tested one last time (I wanted to be super sure I didn’t have Covid before asking a health professional to look in my throat) and it was positive.

I didn’t say I won’t test him. I just don’t see the point on the first real day of symptoms since it probably won’t come up positive yet. I’ve tested both kids a hundred times for every sniffle up to this point.
our family currently all has colds, so I said "maybe." We are taking it easy and resting as much as we can now in the hopes to feel better by Thursday. But we are not traveling at all, just doing Thanksgiving with local family.
I clicked no because it was just the two of us, again. But, 10 minutes ago we just got an invite to a friend’s place. Which is tempting me. So, this could change…
All bets are off until Thursday morning. Good news is it's a small group of people and we're the ones that go anywhere between work and school. My parents, uncle, and FIL rarely leave the house except for the grocery store and doctor appointments.
TBD - my son had a quick stomach bug Friday night. He was completely back to normal yesterday and H and I are still okay. I also cleaned really well. I'm hopeful we don't get it, but I'm sure we still could. I remember one time DS got a stomach bug on a Saturday and I thought I was in the clear the following week and got sick like 5 days later Or, DS or H could bring something else home from school in the next 2.5 days. Thanksgiving is my absolute favorite holiday and we travel to DE to see my relatives, so I'm really hoping we remain illness free this week. Knock on wood, we've never missed traveling there except in 2020 when we didn't have it.

Fingers crossed, no. I got an Apple notification that I had been exposed to Covid at some point about 5 days ago. I tested last night, and will test again today. I'll also test before we go to IL's house. I feel fine and my test yesterday was negative.
