Thank you, Internet friends. Sometimes just reading “I’m sorry. I hope you find peace” or a similar message over and over helps.
My mom and I went to lunch and her fortune in her fortune cookie had something like “Your personality will help you find serenity in difficult times.” My mom’s dad was in AA many moons ago when he was still alive and he loved the Serenity Prayer. We looked at each other and started crying. I made her put it in her wallet.
I need ham like water Like breath, like rain I need ham like mercy From Heaven's gate Sometimes ham salad or casserole or ham that’s free range, all natural I need ham
I’m so sorry. The loss of a sibling is so, so hard. It’s different, the loss of shared history and someone you’ve known your entire life is really hard to process (and hard for others to relate to if they haven’t been through it). Do you have any other siblings? When I lost my brother, my sister and I leaned on each other a lot. I was thankful I had her as I felt like she was the only person who understood. If he was your only sibling, I’m extra sorry (and happy to listen if you need someone to talk to).

So sorry to hear this. COVID got my brother almost 2 years ago, and while we were nowhere near as close, it still doesn’t feel real a lot of the time. So you’re not alone in that feeling, but I hope it improves a little with time. Will be thinking of you!
