Earlier this week I read Near the Bone by Christina Henry. It had been sitting on my Kindle for ages and now I regret not picking it up sooner. It was an engaging, suspenseful read that blended "supernatural" and man made horrors.
QOTW: I feel like this is something I struggle with. I have lots of great ideas when I don't need a gift for someone and none when I do. Luckily with my family you can usually get away with food or alcohol.
I read Vera Kelly Lost and Found by Rosalie Knecht, thanks for whoever mentioned there was a third one!
I’m probably best at getting gifts for my twin (there does tend to be “a little for you, a little for me” in my purchasing 😆) and my kids (though my younger daughter is not this year getting an iPhone, dog, full size trampoline, tumble track, or human baby as she wants, so we’ll see if we still have success there).
I’m reading The People You meet on Vacation and listening to A Ladder to the Sky. I’m also trying to finish The Color of Law. Struggling to have time for any of them, I read some 5 star books and my expectations are too high.
QOTW: I used to think I was super thoughtful and creative. This year, not so much. Now I just feel like I’m buying to buy.

I think I mentioned it; I’m glad you liked it! It’s a fun little series.
I’m a little surprised by 300! I’ve always read a lot but that’s about 30-40 more than other years! I didn’t feel like I was reading more time-wise. Maybe I’m getting faster? I don’t even count books I only read for work and I started and didn’t finish 178 additional books lol

Finished Winterwood and Gingerbread, both were meh.
Reading Swashbucklers which is fun. It's like reading a book version of Simon Pegg/ Nick Frost movies. Guy and his friends defeat evil pirate ghost and close hellmouth as children using magical video game consoles, but he's the only one who remembers. Whole town thinks it was a gas-leak induced hallucination. Book starts 30 years later when guy returns home for Christmas with his son after a divorce to find that Christmas decorations are coming to life and killing people, and he and his friends, along with a talking fox will need to suit up again.
Listening to Black Sun which deals with Mesoamerican mythology of SunGods and priests, solstice rituals, and a sea captain with a song that can control waters and people. So far I'm enjoying it.
QOTW: Do you consider yourself a good gift giver? Yes! Gift giving is my love language so I spend a lot of time "getting it right."
Finished Remarkably Bright Creatures. Loved it. Also finished It Starts with Us. I liked it but not a 5*. Just started Lessons in Chemistry. So far so good but it needs a TW.
Not sure what I will read next. I would like something that I can’t put down from the very beginning.
QOTW: I struggle but I try hard to find something the person will like rather than finding something and then figuring who to give it to.

Weekend reading wasn't that great, but used yesterday to make a dent on "Things We Do In the Dark". Sorry to sound like a broken record, but I have to husstle. I think I have almost 300 pages left between my 2 books to meet updated goal by Saturday night.
QOTW: I try really hard to give thoughtful gifts, and hope they're well received.
