So my daughter are the first two, and the top of the third, and my eye, which I identify as hazel, is the bottom. What color are hers?! They used to be more blue, but now look blueish green. Thanks!
Ok douche, go ahead and call it mud. My husband DID have halitosis. We addressed it after I talked to you girls on here and guess what? Years later, no problem. Mofongo, you're a cunt. Eat shit. ~anonnamus
Your kid’s eyes are water colored (I’m trying to make it a thing). A lot like mine but she has a touch of amber flecks while mine are a little more teal. I list them as grey on my license.
Both my parents have hazel eyes and they look like those two sets. My mom's are more blue and my dad's are more green. Mine and my brother's are straight blue and look different than both of theirs. (Mine also have a brown stripe in one eye, which is super cool but unrelated to the question.)
Also my middle brother has brown eyes which bio 101 genetics says isn't possible, but he's definitely my full brother. 😂
I don’t know, but my younger two kids have very similar colored eyes (and mine are also hazel. My big kids and my husband are blue), and I don’t know what to call them either.
Ooh! I know this colour. My husband has it. I call his eye colour shirt colour, because basically his eyes look the same colour as whatever shirt he’s wearing. He only has true blue eyes if it’s a sunny day with clear skies.
My eyes were green/hazel until puberty, at which point I went through a fun two year transition where my eyes were hazel during the day but then brown at night. It freaked my Mom out. Now they are 90% brown, but if it’s super sunny or if you shine a flashlight in my eyes I have a bright green crescent in the middle. My pupils need to be very small for it to show though.
Both our kids have very blue eyes and DH loves them but I reminded them that they will likely chameleon into a grey/green.

I'd call your daughter's blue and yours are clearly hazel, but I'm not fussy about eye color and go with what they come closest to without too much thought or dissection. I'm sure they can look different in different light/wearing different colors.
I thought the PP one was definitely hazel too.
But I'm also someone who has been told my whole life that I have brown eyes, because from a distance of about 5 ft or more I look like I have brown eyes, but if you look any closer, they are clearly hazel, but I also don't care about that. I'm pretty sure my drivers licence says brown. If you ask my dh what color my eyes are, he says hazel. I'm definitely meh about it.
I have these eyes, and so does my younger daughter. I call them chameleon eyes because they change shades depending on my clothing, lighting, and background. Mine favor green, so that's what I put on my license. Daughter's favor blue. But we both look gray most of the time! It's a fun color! Husband has brownish-amber (he considers them brown but there are definitely some green/gold flecks) and older daughter has purely brown eyes.
no joke, prior to having our son, if anyone looked at my husband's eyes, they noted they were grey. No way were they any other color. Then our son was born with these BRIGHT BLUE eyes and my husband's eyes changed to match them exactly. All I ever hear is how my son has his dad's beautiful blue eyes. I am all "THEY WERE GRAY FOR 35 YEARS!!!!"
Thanks all! I usually default to blue, but describe them as “bluish-greenish-grayish.” Love “water color” eyes.
Genetics are wild. My husband’s eyes are brown, mine are hazel, our son’s are bright clear blue, and our DD’s are what you see above. DH’s blue gene came from his father, but mine came from my mom’s mother - and my mom’s eyes are dark brown! It’s wild. Never thought I’d have blue-eyed kids.

Yes they are. And fun! I have hazel eyes, my H has blue eyes and DS has brown eyes. It turns out they skipped two generations! My maternal grandpa (his great grandpa) had brown eyes. My mom has hazel eyes, my dad blue and both of H's parents have blue eyes.

my H and I met in HS biology by being assigned together to do punnet genetic squares. We had so much fun doing that and then 17 years later we produced our son.
I don't know what I'd call them. I like chameleon eyes or water color eyes.
I thought my son had just blue eyes until a kid in his class told him he had central heterochromia, which he said was rare. Now I do notice the gold ring around his pupil. My second child has sectoral heterochromia and has a brown section in one eye and some flecks in the other. It's interesting and I'm curious whether they'll change.
All of these posts have made me decide my youngest has hazel eyes. I've always though of them as amber (they are a distinctly amber color) but on close inspection they have a fine ring of green on the outside. So hazel it is.

I can't get a good current pic but it's similar to above. Ring of gray ish on outside. Varying shades of greenish brownish sometimes blueish in between.
Rings vary in their prominence. It really changes daily. I'm weirdly fascinated about this entire thing so observe regularly.
No one has ever said brown for me though. Green gray blue but mostly just hazel. I've never heard amber but it's probably a good word.
Recently I've been called green. With insitance (it's weird how insistent). I chalk it up to being in a place where nearly everyone is dark brown. It's literally been a topic of conversation at my local. On many days. /Shrug
The rings are the best description I've come across, so I think you're in the right track with that.
