Does anyone have one of these? I was opposed to a sliding glass door because I imagined the old, rickety, thick-framed one at my sister's place, but it looks like there's been great advances in sliding glass door technology!
Wondering if it's one of those looks-pretty-but-is-a-pain-in-real-life things or if it would really work well long-term.
Yes we have a couple, one in our principal bath and one in our basement bath (which we actually installed ourselves). They’re not cheap but I think they look beautiful - so much nicer than the framed glass doors we’ve had in previous houses. I’d go for it.
Eta: the one in the pic looks exactly like the one we put into our basement shower. Our other one has a hinged door. I like them both.

Thanks so much! If you have any brand recommendations I'd also welcome that as well! I think the one I found with the photo is Miseno from Wayfair but I'm open to anything that isn't going to have issues with warping or sagging or whatever over time!
We have one that's a slider, and one that's a hinged door. We live in a place with hard water, so have squeegees in both showers for people to wipe down the glass after using them, but other than that, we really like ours.
No idea on brands - our contractor found/put them in.

I should clarify - we have the frameless hinged one in our primary bath, and love it, but the upstairs bath doesn't have clearance for a hinged door. I was worried the slider wouldn't be as solid but maybe that's not an issue, especially as it's braced on both sides?

We have a hinged one in our main house and I think both are substantial/sturdy and built to last. We've had zero issues with either. We've had the hinged one almost 10 years. The sliding one at the vacation home is a few years old.
We have a slider. We have hard water and have not been diligent about squeegeeing. It's about 12 years old at this point and the hard water has permanently etched it.
But if you already have a similar hinged door and know that's not an issue for you, then I'd go for it. I love the look of them and have no problem with the slider.
dr.girlfriend, keep posting - you're planning my bath reno too! I like the 2 lights over head in the shower. That inspo pic could use a hand shower. They're so helpful for cleaning and whatnot. Does this mean you're thinking shower/no tub?

we have a similar one like you posted in our basement bathroom. It doesn't get a lot of use but is sturdy. I don't like that only one side slides - I'd prefer to have the option of both sliding... but I think it works great.

I'm on Pinterest too if you really want to stay informed! Yeah, I haven't talked to my contractor about it yet, but both DH and DS say they would prefer just shower and no tub, so it seems like a relatively easy choice.

We put a similar one in our bathroom last year.
H wanted one and I think he is happy with it. We found that Menards had by far the largest selection.
I personally like how it looks but find it to be a bit of a pain for cleaning and mold prevention. But it was a tiny bathroom and we couldn't have done a hinge door and a shower curtain would have looked tacky so idk what else we could have done.
We’re looking to replace a slider with something similar in our upcoming master bath. Anyone do frosted glass over clear? Would that help with some of the hard water issues? We’ll do a swinging door in the downstairs bath as well, about the same time.
I think these can also be done by glass companies?

We used a local glass company for our frameless slider. I like it, but we did have to make it taller because we have a rain shower and my husband is super tall. It makes the slider really heavy.
I had almost that exact one pictured and eventually ripped it out to replace it with a shower curtain. Our water was not friendly to the glass and honestly, I just didn't have it in me to squeegee it off after every shower (and I know H wouldn't have!). Besides the water etching the glass and making it look completely filthy after 6 months of use, it was great! We had zero complaints except for trying to keep it clean.
We had one just like that in our last house. I liked it. I bumped into it hard a couple times and it rattled loudly but seemed pretty sturdy overall.
I think the one we bought was made by Kohler. We ordered through Home Depot and the contractor installed it, but you may need a specialty company if you're looking for frosted glass. Cleaning it wasn't super fun, I did it once in a while but I didn't care too much about it.
Re: cleaning, I don't know if we have hard water or not (north of Dallas, TX) but I use a 50/50 vinegar/water solution in a spray bottle. Once a week spray on the dry glass, wait 5 minutes, wipe in circles with a microfiber cloth, dry with paper towel and the shower glass sparkles.
