We went to four stores today looking for invitations for DS’ birthday party. The first store had one pack that was “ok” but we decided to keep looking and never found any others, even at party stores where they had all the other party paraphernalia. Are printed invites not a thing anymore?
I rarely see printed invitations anymore. Honestly, I’m more likely to lose it or forget to RSVP with paper versus having evite hound me.

They are getting harder to find each year. Surprisingly I found some at the supermarket last year. This year I finally broke down and made a Canva image and texted it to all the moms for DD's party. I may still search for paper invites for DS. Or I may just make a Canva image for him and have it printed at Staples on card stock since his have to be sent into to school to be distributed.

I ran into this too. Even party city didn’t have any!
I ended up doing a printable pdf thing and using card stock at home. I’m still annoyed 🤷🏻♀️
Yes we tried party city too - they had literally none! We have a handful leftover from a couple of previous birthdays, so we’re going to fill one out and text a photo of it to the moms of the kids that I know, and he’ll bring in a paper one to school for the ones I don’t. Going forward I guess we’ll be going the printable pdf route, though.

I actually mentioned this to DS as well - I do find when he gets an invite texted to me I typically just text his RSVP back then - done and done.

Canva is outside of my knowledge base but I may just need to look into it for next year…

I can't think of the last time we got a paper invite. They are all evite/paperless post. Occasionally a text. Evite is my preference, especially if you show the guest list so I can coordinate pick up/drop off with a friend.
I know what you mean! We had a hell of a time getting the covers on the side pieces. And it’s not easy to get the feet and shoes lined up.
I was deceived by the blurb that says it takes 15 minutes per box.
It took us way longer than we expected.
I was definitely kind of disappointed with this. It makes it a huge ordeal to take the covers off to wash. I mean, I love that you can reconfigure the sofa, and I do love that the covers are washable/replaceable, but I think they WAY glosses over how physically difficult it is to move pieces around and remove/replace covers.

This is the first party we’re doing for him since pre-COVID so I guess things have changed! I do agree that evites are easier, but I don’t know the moms of a couple of the kids so can’t text them. Thinking I’ll just need to make up printable ones in this case in the future…

I only get printed invites for weddings anymore. For kids parties we usually get a text invite created in Canva or something similar.
Forgetting to take Effexor two, possibly three nights in a row? 0/10 DO NOT recommend. Omg I slept all day but with the most horrible nightmares. I feel like I got the shit beaten outta me!
I researched the hell out of Effexor before I started it and saw so many reviews about how to make sure not to miss a dose and that it is hard to wean off of. I resigned to probably just take it for the rest of my life rather than deal with that.

My DD is a teenager and even when she was little, I used my printer or an easy print service. I am not fancy at all. Maybe it’s because her birthday falls around Christmas and I already had a set-up for holiday cards. I always just uploaded her picture to Snapfish or Walgreens, added the party information and let them print them for me. They even came with envelopes. Avery.com is a great site, too - but those get mailed to you (unless you buy the card stock from Staples and do it on your own printer).
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”

. DS1 is almost 16 and I don’t think I’ve done or seen a paper invite since his 2nd birthday. Regional! Lol

I don’t think it’s regional.
You just have to have access to either email addresses or phone numbers. Not everyone signs up to share those at our public school, so when the kids or little or there is a new kid, there isn’t another way to extend the invite.
Even our class WhatsApp doesn’t have all of the families in it.
I imagine by first grade they will have specific friends rather than a class party.

Before I used evite, I had them printed at Staples and they always turned out well. Groupon sometimes has deals too so they're cheap

A colleague recommended it to me because she said it helps create nice Instagram posts for the office. I think I watched like a handful of tutorials on YouTube and it has been very easy for me to figure out the desktop version. The phone version has been tough for me to find all the features from the desktop version. It's nice for my office because once we imported our logo, it automatically pulled all the colors from the logo and makes it very easy to pick those colors for backgrounds, fonts, designs, etc. when creating documents, flyers, posts etc. I'm sure the free version is enough to make one invite but I bought the Pro subscription for the business. I think we needed the Pro version to get that logo import + color palette feature. DD was having a "make rolled ice cream" party so I put "rolled ice cream" in the image search a bunch of rolled ice cream images just popped right up.
I woke up at 4:15 am one morning last week and vowed to be super productive before the rest of the house woke up. I spent like 20 minutes playing around to create the invite and by 5 am I was pulling up the phone numbers to text all the moms.
At 5:15 am, the toddler came looking for me to return to bed. I don't call him my magnet for nothing.
1confused1 , ProfessorArtNerd , exactly a year ago, I went on a 3 night trip out of town. Completely forgot to bring my Effexor. No issues the first day or the second day. The third day, I was so nauseous. I haven't felt like that since I was pregnant but that was an impossibility. That's when I realized I was feeling the side effect of skipping the medication. By the end of the night, I was so miserable from the nausea and I still had to get on the red eye flight back home. My associate was with me and she gave me some Alka-selzer. I had never taken that but it helped so much. I think I also had a headache and probably took some Advil too, but the nausea OMG.
Since then, I've made a huge effort to not skip a dose. Lately I've been very bad about making sure to take the medication at the same time every day. Recently, I've been having crazy dreams about people from my past more often. I wonder if it's because of the timing being off.

If you haven't given up, try target. They had some (not a big selection, but a few) the last time I was there. Look in all the assorted party sections (you know how there is a kid area, and then a generic area, and then that other part that is sort of party, sort of little gifts, sort of little office toys for adults? That is where I saw a few.). It might be easiest to search online and have them get them ready for you at pick up if you like them.
It's a NJ take on pizza similar to Brooklyn-style.
Must be a North Jersey thing....I grew up in South Jersey; I'm not familiar with it. 😊
Totally must be a North Jersey thing, I've never heard of it. South Jersey person as well. Now tomato pie, that's some good sh!t. I am very curious about trenton pie though, not curious enough to actually go near Trenton to try it, lol.
ETA: Just looked it up, it appears to be a tomato pie, those are delish. Santucci's Square has awesome tomato pie.

I’m in Canada so no Target - thanks, though! (We’re deprived)

Tomato pie is delicious. My favorite comes from a small family owned restaurant, Bruno's.

Where is that? I like Holy Tomato in Blackwood, Camden County

I love Canva! I have the pro version and I love to design different things in it. There is a learning curve. If you (or anyone for that matter) needs an invite I’d be happy to design them for no charge!
