It's Friday, so what have you been reading this week? Any ratings/reviews/recommendations?
QOTW: Since it's Friday the 13th - do you have any superstitions that you follow? (example: don't open an umbrella indoors, a broken mirror brings bad luck, etc)
I (finally) finished Knife Creek by Paul Doiron — good but not my favorite in the series. Now will probably start Lost in the Moment and Found by Seanan McGuire.
QOTW: I make a wish if I notice 11:11 on a digital clock, and somehow I added my own twist that in order to get my wish, I can’t look at the clock again until it’s no longer 11:11. More challenging that you’d think. ETA: I don’t actually believe this works, but I do it anyway!

I'm hoping to finish Tomorrow x3 tonight. We leave on vacation Monday and I want to bring a smaller book 😂
QOTW: I sometimes will literally knock on wood, but not always. I feel like there was something else but I can't think of it! Definitely not that superstitious!
I started Hell Bent by Leigh Bardugo last night. Too early for me to have a strong opinion but I did have a hard time putting it down to go to bed.
I also made progress with How Long 'Till Black Future Month while I waited for this to come off hold. I'm enjoying some stories much more than others but have been overall pleased.
QOTW: Not in a serious way. I do knock on wood sometimes but more for show. I can't think of any real superstitions I have but perhaps someone will jog my memory with their post.
Under the Whispering Door by TJ Kune. The first 100 or so pages were slow to me but I’m glad I didn’t put it down. I liked it. Sea of Tranquility by Emily St. John Mandel. I really enjoyed it.
I read Spare by Prince Harry (the audiobook version) - I gave it 4 stars. I thought it was pretty interesting. Still reading Tress of the Emerald Sea by Sanderson, at the 86% mark. It's pretty good but I don't have a strong desire to pick it back up, after putting it down if that makes sense?
QOTW: I do actually knock on wood when saying that phrase, but only if it happens to be near me. I also don't walk under ladders but that's just a common sense safety thing more than anything. I also don't open umbrellas indoors, but again that's more of a common sense thing - you would just have to close it again to fit it through a door to go outside with it.

Finished The Gender Games, The Devil's Half Acre, and We Should All Be Feminists. I enjoyed all three.
Started Braiding Sweetgrass, but I'm not far enough in to make any comments.
QOTW: Since it's Friday the 13th - do you have any superstitions that you follow? (example: don't open an umbrella indoors, a broken mirror brings bad luck, etc) Oh I'm the worst with these! I totally won't open an umbrella inside the house, I knock on wood, I won't say the name of the Scottish play inside a theater...
I’m listening to the 100 years of Lenny and Margo and reading We Begin at the End and am really sporadic on my reading this week, both books are somewhat captivating me but not drawing me to them as much as other stuff.
QOTW: @@ one of my kids was born on a Friday the 13th, so it became more special than intimidating after that. I discourage umbrella opening in the house and walking under ladders and have somewhat recently told the little people in my house not to do so, so I guess it’s still a superstition.
