My contractor is able to move up our kitchen demo, but I have to get the cabinets cleared out today for them to start tomorrow. I didn't realize how much kitchen stuff I have. Maybe if I got rid of half the stuff I could have eliminated the desire for a renovation
libbygrl109 thanks! So far no surprises. They were here at 7:30 am and are hard at work with the demo.
momin2013 I tried. I have a couple bags to donate, hopefully I will purge more when we have the operational cabinets. I was doing a good job purging in the morning, but by the evening I was like, "well, this is a problem for future me, into a box you go."

Good luck! If you have an IKEA near you I recommend going there to look at their drawer organizers. Decluttering is great but having five spatulas so you don't need to wash one when you need it is also great in my book. ;-)

Were you watching me go through the items in my kitchen? I really do use almost all the stuff that I kept.
Thanks for the Ikea tip. My biggest problem is setting up a system that meets our lifestyle. My husband does the dish washing and putting away of the dishes 80% of the time, so unless I want more work for myself a complicated HomeEdit style kitchen setup isn't going to fly. We are getting some fancy sliding drawers in a couple of the cabinets so hopefully that will help with some of the organization.

Ha, I don't even know what a HomeEdit kitchen setup is. :-) I just have some little dividers in the shallow drawer that holds all the whisks and spatulas and stuff that helps keep things aligned, and also a stand-up lid holder which fits in a drawer and is really nice. :-)

I feel ya! I did get rid of a lot of duplicate stuff when we did our kitchen remodel. But did end up just packing and leaving stuff for later as well.
We have an At Home by us and they have great bamboo organizer trays that I use for the silverware drawer and I wanted to keep stuff off the counters so it also has an in drawer knife block (that was amazon).
