When we go to Disney Indian Jones and Haunted Mansion will be closed and just got word that Jurassic World will be closed which was our main reason to go to Universal AND I am still having to pay a billion dollars to go. It just sucks to plan these big expenses trips and have you (or your kids) get really excited about rides and then face long closures. I wish they gave $10 off for every ride closure lol.

Word. When I went to Disneyland Paris Big Thunder was closed for a month, and they reportedly have the best Big Thunder of all the Disney Parks. It's a Small World had also been closed for like, 18 months (how much could you possible do to that ride?!). But at least it's planned closures.
Last year at WDW, we had a day were RoR, Slinky, Star Tours, Runaway Railway, AND Tower of Terror were all down for more than half the day. We did actually complain to guest services and they gave us 3 lightening lanes, so I guess that's something.

Oh wow. I would be mad. That is a lot. I also feel like it sucks to have two big rides closed. Like Indian Jones and Haunted Mansion are too pretty big rides! Haunted mansion is closed becuase they decided (for some reason) to delay the take down of the holiday overlay. Christmas was a month ago at this point. Move along disney!
I went to Universal in 2012 and 2016. Both times the Jurassic Park river ride was down. I finally got to ride it this past November, 10 years after my first attempt! It was frustrating in 2016, I couldn't believe it was closed again.

The holiday overlay goes up in September. Most people love it more than the original, which is why they decided to keep it longer. You can always find ride closures/refurb schedules eaily on the app and on google far ahead of time, so I'd look before you book. Might be helpful.

Ditto, I agree the changes to Splash Mountain are necessary, but I won't go back till that is all done. WDW without a ride or two on Splash Mountain isn't the same.

When DH and I went to Disneyland 5 years ago, the #1 ride I wanted to go on was the Matterhorn, which was closed while we were there. Then when we went on our Disney Cruise this fall, we couldn't dock at Castaway Cay.
It's disappointing, but I look at it as a reason to go back in the future.

It was closed last time we went to Disneyland (normal winter closure) but it will actually be open this time which I was surprised by! And the wait time has been about 10 minutes (not many people want to ride in winter I guess). I am glad the kids wil get to experience it but I can't wait until the change over. I bet it will look amazing.

The first time we went to WDW with Lucy, she was like an inch too short. Now, we are going in June. She wouldve been horrified by the storyline, but she's still disappointed anyway.

It will still be a great trip. A surprise hit for my oldest who is maybe near your daughter's age was the Monster Inc Laugh Floor. Actually all 3 of mine loved it and it's a show, not even a ride.
