I read this interview yesterday and I'm still thinking about it. I am intrigued by the ideas here, primarily as a response to how hateful the Republican party has become.
I've long said that the GOP wants to keep its voters poor, sick, stuck and stupid. I stand by that claim. I formed it by reading books such as Stangers in Our Own Land, Caste, and articles like the one linked above, plus what I saw during COVID, and what's happening right now with WIC in Iowa.
I agree w/ the pastor that the polarization in our democracy we have right now is not sustainable. As I type this post, I'm listening to a report that 10 people were gunned down at a ballroom dancing class. Ballroom. Dancing. Class. WTAF?
