I'm working for a while tomorrow. Got all the W2s done last week but now trying to get 1099s. It is so frustrating getting W9s from clients so we can do the forms. This is the one part of tax season I really don't like. Other than that I have the normal laundry, groceries, meal prep, and DD wants to ride. We are supposed to get really cold this weekend so riding might not happen. Sunday high is 32 with a low 15 and I bet it will be foggy as anything. They say we may even get snow Saturday night.
I'm happy it is Friday as the week has been long. DD talked with her counselor at school yesterday. They are looking into her taking math at the high school next year and she is going through the red tape so DD can go volunteer during the school day in her old 1st grade class at a different school. Her counselor seems really cool and is really trying to help DD want to be at school.
All of my weekend plans have been wiped out since I tested positive for COVID yesterday. I feel terrible. 0/10 would not recommend.
I am holding dd2 out of her sports this weekend because she is still testing positive and doesn’t want to play in a mask. DD1 is still testing negative, so DH will take her to her games tonight and tomorrow.
I’m hoping I feel better tomorrow so that I can do some organizing in the basement. Otherwise, just recovering. Maybe doing a little work since I couldn’t function today.
Dd2 and I started bingeing Mysterious Benedict Society today, so we will probably finish. It’s pretty good!
I was going to play volleyball tonight, but I am wiped out. Tomorrow we are all going to a variety show in our town, and it will be a late night, so I think I am going to rest up tonight.
On a good note, we did get our vacation booked last night. A large house on Cape Sans Blas. DD is happy, Dh is not griping, so win.

Ahhhhhh, I'm SO glad it is Friday! This has felt like the lonnnngggesssttt.week.ever. Seriously.
Well, my kids have lots of plans this weekend as usual -HAHA. DD is getting together with her friends both tonight, and tomorrow night. Both are celebrations for the same friend's b-day?! Kind of funny but I'm sure they'll have a great time. Also, DS has b-ball and DD has v-ball tomorrow.
If we can get someone to watch DS tomorrow evening, I'm hoping we can have a date night. We really need to do a better job of having those more regularly...but its so hard because of DH shift schedule.
Ugh, I'm sorry mae0111! I hope it's quick and mild.
I'm loving life today. I was supposed to have jury duty, and you call in or look on the website to see if you should show up, and it said I didn't have to come till Monday. I'll check again Sunday evening to see if it gets pushed again - I'm on standby for 5 days. Thinking I likely had jury duty meant I didn't have anything on my calendar today. So I went for a long run along the ocean, spent 2 hours organizing our garage (it had gotten out of hand and I wanted all the sports stuff organized for spring sports starting), gave myself a mani-pedi and cooked a Blue Apron meal for lunch, then ate it while finishing my good book. Now I'm settling in to do some actual work for a bit, so that if I have to go Monday, I'm not working Sunday night. I feel like I hadn't really taken a breath since like early November - since we hosted a lot of people for Thanksgiving, then got ready for Christmas for four little kids, then the kids were off forever until 1/9, and then we had MIL in town and DS1's birthday. MIL left yesterday.
Normal weekend for us here - 2 soccer games, 2 basketball games, a baseball practice and a softball practice for the two older kids. DS1 found out his baseball team assignment last night after the tryout/draft process, and he's on a team coached by one of our good friends, so that's awesome. And I'm excited to go for drinks with two girlfriends tomorrow evening.
I have to be out of town almost all of next week. I have been sick all this week, and it has just sucked. Ever since we have been able to work from home, I’ve always been able to just work through illness. This week? Nope. I’m working in the mornings but every afternoon I’m a hot mess and just sleep all afternoon. So I have to fully recover this weekend. Because next week will be a lot of very long days where I have to be “on” all the time.
Luckily we have no plans this weekend. I may try to take the kids to get their eyes checked at the optometrist at the mall, but that’s really it. I’m planning on a whole lot of couch surfing.
mae0111, feel better soon and use this time to be sick and not super mom! Are you reading or watching Mysterious Benedict Society? DD read the books a couple years ago.
mommyatty - I hope you feel better soon! I couldn’t function today so I was horizontal all day long. No work at all.
186momx - I have tried several times to get both of my kids to read the books, but we never got more than a chapter in. So we are watching on Disney Plus. I love Tony Hale so I’m enjoying it!
Tonight we're going to our favorite Mexican restaurant with Beau's mom and brother. It's not supposed to rain this weekend so one day we'll go riding. We'll go to the gym and run a few errands. I'm most excited to sleep in.
mae0111, DD said you had to get halfway through the 1st book before anything made sense. Then it was an easy read but that first chunk was hard. She read it during virtual book club, it took the club 5 months to read the book (DD finished in 2 weeks and that was dragging it out).

We’ll have to try this Mysterious Benedict Society. We are doing Harry Potter as a family audiobook and are all enjoying it.
This week was loooooong. So long. Several things went awry at work, nothing major but all at once, plus all the dog angst. She is becoming increasingly hard to manage. We have my dad’s 70th and DD’s belt test this weekend and then we are going to talk to them early next week.
So that’s what we have the agenda — belt testing and lots of cleaning and cooking for my dad’s birthday dinner. All he wanted was for me to make carnitas and pound cake. I can manage that!
Happy it's Friday. My weekend got off to a good start. A friend bailed oh happy hour plans, but, honestly, I was a bit relieved just to go home after work. I ended up doing laundry and cleaning DDs room a bit. (Both of my children inherited my husband's family gene for random messiness. I'm in a constant state of clean up.) I feel more "settled" now. Our weekend plans are up in the air. We may get together tomorrow night with some friends who are visiting from out of town. They have a child the same age as one of mine. Said child has some very concerning behaviors. I can't relax around her. I absolutely love her parents. I wish we could just have an adult night, but I don't see that happening....
Took the kids to see it yesterday after school. The girls loved it, but they’re easy to please and excited about all things in general. Beau’s son told us he hates it but couldn’t provide any actual reasons why last night. I think he was just disappointed that it wasn’t some massive single family home like his mom’s.
This morning we had a big family discussion about proper expectations, what he actually didn’t like, and why we like this house as an option. We explained that this house will let us still be able to afford to do fun things instead of spending all of our money on the house every month. And once he realized we could paint and change things up, he was much more on board.
