I finished Locust Lane by Stephen Amidon, which I did not really enjoy, and am now reading In West Mills by De’Shawn Charles Winslow, which is much better. Quite short, well written and nicely paced. ETA just finished it and would definitely recommend.
QOTW: definitely sweet! I have a ridiculous sweet tooth.
I've been reading How to Sell a Haunted House by Grady Hendrix. I'm only 1/4 of the way in but enjoying it a lot. I've enjoyed all of his books but so far this is less campy than the majority of them and in a good way.
QOTW: Definitely salty. I even prefer salty sweets.

I started The Cloisters after getting back from vacation but I've been so tired I'm slacking, haha. I did finally finish Educated (audiobook) after off and on listening for months, haha. It was good. A little slow at first, but the stories about her family are just fascinating. I'd love to know more about how things are going now/after the book (I'll have to Google it later!).
QOTW: I have the worst sweet tooth. I WILL eat certain things daily if it's in the house (like ice cream, or certain sugary cereals), so I try to limit buying those things. I don't completely limit it, I just try to go with slightly better options and only buy the sugary stuff occasionally. My H doesn't help because he tends to buy me a Mello Yellow or Dr Pepper or something while he's out, which I appreciate, but really don't need, haha.
Currently reading Open Water by Caleb Azumah Nelson. I thought it was going to be a faster read and I was wrong. I had a busy week too so it’s taking time.

Finished Mistreated and Braiding Sweetgrass. Mistreated was great. Braiding Sweetgrass was too long. I think it would have been better maybe 200 pages shorter.
Started How to Read NOW! by Elaine Castillo which is a series of essays about how we unjustly glorify white authors and either ignore or exploit authors of color. So far it's great.
QOTW: Which do you usually prefer, salty foods or sweet foods? salty. I could give or take sweets.
I read Haruki Murakami's "The T Shirts I Love." What a silly book. I guess I was expecting a more in-depth analysis of why we love certain things or what social forces drive us to buy stuff, either in the U.S. or Japan. But no. There's a very well-photographed t-shirt on every page with 200-500 words on where he bought it and why. Imagine being so famous, lol, that people like me would read something you wrote even when you made such minimal effort. Having said all this, it definitely was an enjoyable read.
I'm now reading Liberation Day by George Saunders. The first two stories were excellent.
QoTW: Sweet, although only chocolate. But I'm pretty addicted to chocolate.
I read: Still Beating by Jennifer Hartmann - 3.5 stars; romance; but this is a really messed up book that I suggest not reading if you have any kind of triggers
Magic Tides by Ilona Andrews - 5 stars; urban fantasy; I love having a new Kate Daniels book!!
Daughter of No Words by Carissa Broadbent - 2.5 stars; fantasy romance; forgettable
QOTW Absolutely salty. Sweets are a rare occasion for me but I could eat salty foods every day at every meal and I wouldn't get tired of it. It's a problem LOL
