Am I the only one finding it weird just how much our government is throwing their weight behind Casa Bonita? I get that it's Polis' pet project, but when all is said and done, it's just another business.
I think part of it is being a trendy thing to be in the know about, maybe to get the attention of the youngsters? Either way, it’s annoying. Also, I didn’t catch the actual speech, but the mention of the 150 year State b-day? That would be 3 years away (I’m a bi-centennial baby), why is he mentioning it?
Also, I grew up here and have never been. Closest I got was time in the last few years at the brewery next door.
Casa Bonita before was fun to go to because you knew it was a tourist trap, and you knew the food would be bad. Plus the place smelled uniquely of chlorine and mold. With the new place, I dunno man. And the claim that it's going to employ 500 people, really? Where are those people going to come from?
I never went before and I don't really have any need to go now. I guess because it's a Colorado icon Polis is getting behind it, maybe like if something happened to Buckhorn Exchange or something.
