Purchase - salad choppers, I realized, I prefer smaller lettuce pieces
My kid yesterday said she needed to make sure the valentine's she brought were ok for all her classmates because one can't have foods with dye. She wanted to bring fun dip, but said that wouldn't be fair if everyone can't enjoy so she wants to switch to maybe slap bracelets.
Every night I get into my comfy position in bed before I fall asleep. That brings me so much joy. My bed is so comfortable. Another day is coming to a close. It is always brings me a moment of gratitude.
On Sunday DD and I went to Barnes and Noble. She picked up two things: The Hunger Games and a magazine about the Astro's World Series victory. Two things made me happy: One, that DD wanted to read a book I enjoyed so much. Two, the checkout line was long and we were chatting. She told me she wanted to tear out one of the pictures in the magazine and put it on her wall. I told her okay. She was like really? I can? I mean it. I'm going to. I told her okay again. It just kind of kept going and the lady in front of us just started busting out laughing. She turned out and told me we had the cutest relationship. Parenting is hard. That honestly made my week.
I am a sucker for the cat sitting in my lap. It's my favorite snuggly feeling. One of our cats recently started hanging out in the living room almost exclusively and she will follow us around looking for a lap.
I found a shirt company that makes nostalgic tshirts about places/neighborhoods in Western/Central PA (think Hills, defunct baseball teams, dead malls, etc). Just got myself a shirt advertising my favorite zoo from where I grew up that closed in the 90s. Its dumb, but the nostalgia makes me happy.

My teen flips me off every morning when I’m dropping her off at the bus. Which sounds terrible, I know, but it’s her salty sarcastic way of saying bye and I love you.
My almost 10 year old cat pouncing at imaginary mice, under the covers on my bed, this morning, seconds after I got of of bed. He’s not often so playful anymore and it was really cute.
I got a sweater shaver for Christmas, and I’ve been shaving everything that doesn’t move. I love bringing new life back to favorite sweaters that had lots of pills. I also shaved my couch & it looks SO much better!
Seeing the little sparrows come back to my house and starting to spend time in our shutters. It’s a sign that spring is coming, and I hope this means they’ll be nesting here again this year!

That the sun is staying out later! Thank goodness we are past the darkest part of winter!
How affectionate my cats are.
That my 17 yo daughter is still so snuggly. Every night she comes out and we snuggle on the couch together and talk and watch tv. Or if it’s a night before I work, she will come and lay with me as I fall asleep, we will talk and I rub her back until I pass out.
I have been journaling a lot lately. I have two different ones, for two different purposes. One is more of a day to day journal, and the other is one for me to work on emotional regulation, and sitting down for those 20-30 min a day is one of my favorite parts of my day, and has been really good for centering my mind, and also recognizing some patterns of behavior that trigger my anxiety, and cause disruptions in my relationships.
What was the last silly or small thing that brought you joy? (PS-I went with the koala)
Not something that I bought, but H found micromachines toy car on the floor at work and gave it to me later that night. I was greatly amused and kept playing with it. Stupid? Yes. But whatevs. He was greatly amused at my excitement.
The fact that the sun is still out at 5 PM now. Winter is so hard for me, especially Nov-Jan when it's so dark so early. My favorite time of year is coming! (Spring/late spring when the weather finally warms up, everything comes back to life, and we can go buy our plants at the nursery).
Kitty snuggles. Our cats can be very affectionate, and it’s so sweet.
I think pets in general can bring so much joy and happiness.
I woke up this morning and went out to feed the cats, and my one cat (who’s usually a big pig) came up to snuggle me first and wanted held instead of stuffing his face.
People who think cats are only affectionate to get fed haven’t really ever known a cat.

My 14yo and I have been running in the morning before school this year. We do intervals because I stink. This morning during our run interval, I start running and I look behind me and he’s bent over in the road. I ask him what he’s doing and he said “saving worms.” We had a rainy few days and there are tons of worms in the driveway and on the road. He said “I can’t save them all, but I can save these ones.” It kind of cracked my heart in two.
Finding out that the actress playing Janine on Abbott Elementary created the show. We just started watching amd all loved it immediately. Her character is just the sweetest thing in the world and we laugh so hard watching it. What must it be like to create such pure joy?
Another small joy is Ava from the show. lol It's like she's a real person in my life!
I have tea every day with honey and milk. I time it so my first cup of tea is when I sit down to work (I wfh), which makes the idea of logging on bearable.
chilerellanos, did you say somewhere that you got a journal with prompts in it for this? (the emotional regulation piece). If so, I'm curious if you would share what journal you got, I think this could be helpful for me.

We binged it in January and I love it so much. It is just perfection. Ava is a treasure.
This morning before the alarm went off, my dog came up to the top of the bed and lay down back to back. When the alarm went off, he got up and gave me tiny dog kisses (he's not a licky dog normally) and snuggled into me. What a great start to the day.

I got this one. I saw it on insta I think, and was sort of desperate at the time because I just wasn’t finding much luck with a therapist.
I bought myself new pens yesterday. They're fine tip marker pens and it's so satisfying to make my work to-do list with fun colors and fresh new tools!
