My husband got his Army leave dates for the holidays and we're trying to book tickets for flights now. I've check all the websites I can think of, plus individual airlines and it looks like it's going to cost about $1500 just for flights alone for us (2 adult, 1 child over 2). The cheapest ticket I've found is $442. I know that may not seem like a lot to some, but for us, it's not ideal. If anyone is bored and wants to search, the info is below. Otherwise, if you know of any cheap travel sites that I may not have heard of, please post them! Thanks Ladies!!!
We need to fly from either Colorado Springs or Denver. We can fly into Cleveland, Buffalo, Erie or Pittsburgh, though our preference would be Pittsburgh.
Flying home, we would ideally like to fly out of Cleveland, but any of the other airports listed are fine.
We need to fly on Saturday, Dec 22nd. Any time of day is fine. We need to fly home anytime on the 5th of Jan. We could do a red-eye on the 4th if need be.
With DH's leave and the way our holiday schedule is, the dates really aren't very flexible.
Have you looked at Bing price predictor yet? You should be able to get an idea of the best time to buy. I think the dates are going to cost you extra being so close to the Holidays.

It's cheaper to fly into CAK rather than PIT by about $50/ticket. And also much cheaper to fly out of DEN than COS.
Denver to Cleveland 12/22-1/5 on Kayak and got $383 roundtrip hacker fares (flying 2 different airlines). $1149 total. Or $359 if you leave on 12/23, $1077 total.
Flying is a bitch around the holidays, we are also a military family and for the past few years have opted to take 2 weeks in late summer/fall to visit family rather than try and make it happen around Christmas (assuming that's what you're doing: visiting family). It sucks to be away from home for the holidays but it saves a ton of $. Hope you find a deal that works for you soon!

My husband is deploying early next year, so this is the last time he'll be able to see everyone before he leaves. That's why it's so important for us to get home during block leave. I'll keep checking flights. Sigh. Thanks!!!

You need to get on the phone and start asking for military fares. Just a couple hours ago, literally, I found a refundable fare through Delta for 75% less than their online refundable rate which was still about $100 less than their non-refundable rate online.
Unfortunately, it's pure luck. You may get a mil rate that's more expensive than the online rate but with the same restrictions. And they'll swear it's a discount, even though it costs more.
did you look at flying into Latrobe, PA (assuming you're from Pittsburgh)?
Unfortunately you are flying at peak holiday times, and $440 is a pretty good price IMO. I was pricing flights PIT - DEN earlier this year and they were almost $400 at non peak times.
