We booked a Med cruise for this summer and we don’t have access to booking Disney tours until March 5. Any recommendations for specific tours at the following ports? There are just so many options with Disney and privately. Also, in case we find ourselves having to book tours with private companies, any recommended providers? We are a family of 4 with two pretty laid back teenagers. We are not interested in cooking classes.
Marseille Livorno/Florence (unfortulately we stop here on a Monday so the museums are closed) Kefalonia Piraeus/Athens Santorini Naples
sju, I took a med cruise on Royal Caribbean and we did all private tours and loved it. We didn't stop at all the same places but I can help you with two.
1. Marseille - I guess you can say we did our own tour here. About 1/2 a mile walk into town and you come up to the Little Train of Marseille.
It takes you all thru town and up the hills to Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde. The view from up there is amazing. You can stay as long as you want and then just get in line to catch the "train" back down. Afterward, we just walked along the street and did a little shopping and eating and then headed back to the ship.
It was a great start to our vacation.
2. Naples - we booked a private tour thru Italy Tours. www.italytours.eu/
They have small group tours and private tours and really work with you as to what you want. We were a party of 4 and did a private tour of the Amalfi coast. They picked us up right at the ship and escorted us to our private A/C SUV. Our tour guide was super knowledgeable and told us all sorts of interesting facts about various places we passed on our way to the coast (including George Clooney's Italian Vila). He stopped a couple of times on the way out there for scenic pictures and then when we arrived he gave us a little lay of the land, recommended a great restaurant and let us be. He just gave us a time to be back at the vehicle and let us do our thing. I highly recommend them.
