I’m reading One Italian Summer and started listening to How The Light Gets In (#9 Inspector Gramache series)
I like late May/June here in the Denver area. Everything is blooming and turning green. We often get snow showers late into May and it rains more in this timeframe, but it’s so nice to have everything greening up.
I’m reading Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone — it’s quirky and interesting.
QOTW: late spring is lovely — very mild humidity, lots of blooming things. I like fall here too. It’s usually fairly temperate and some years we get really nice leaf colors.
ETA my actual personal preference is the height of summer, sticky humidity and all, but I recognize I’m pretty much alone in that.

Recently finished The Happy Ever After Playlist by Abby Jimenez. Super cute, though there were a few overly cheesy parts and things I would have changed, but mostly I liked it.
Currently reading As Long as the Lemon Trees Grow. This book is already a tough read with the content (takes place in Syria) but I have a terrible feeling this book is going to make me even more sad lol. Also listening to Lessons in Chemistry that I need to finish because it's due back soon! Really liking that one so far.
QOTW: Late spring, early summer. When people start spending more time outside, the snow is melted, and things are starting to get green again.

Finished Mary B and My Lady Jane. I didn't love where the author took Mary B, but I love love loved My Lady Jane and added the rest of the series to my "to read" list. It's being made into an Amazon series and I can't wait.
Still reading the Great Circle and Notes on an Execution.
Started reading Mary Bennet and the Bingley Codex in which Mary goes to live with Jane and Bingley and discovers a book of magic in their library and a secret magical society.
Started listening to Being Mary Bennet which takes the Bennet girls, puts them in modern day San Francisco and has the Mary-character as the protagonist with her goal of trying to fight against her Mary-tendencies.
QOTW: What’s your favorite time of year in the place where you currently live? late fall. Early fall is still pretty warm, but later the weather cools and I love fall activites and holidays.
I finished Less is Lost by Andrew Sean Greer. It was a sweet book but somewhat disorganized feeling. I like Less and his partner, Freddy, as characters but there wasn't much new growth for them here, just a lot of kooky adventures.
I read a really great, earlier book by Andrew Sean Greer last year, The Story of a Marriage, that I would recommend over this one. Lots of twists and realizations. Plus Greer is such a gorgeous, lyrical writer.
I am now reading Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin. So far, so good!
QOTW: My favorite time in Maine is July-October. It's just heaven. If I had to pick ONE season, I'd say summer.
The Survivalists by Kashana Cauley (disappointing)
The Truth About Melody Browne by Lisa Jewell (ok)
Becoming Free Indeed: My Story of Disentangling Faith from Fear by Jinger Duggar Vuolo with Corey Williams (interesting but it wasn’t what I expected)
QOTW: late spring!
I heard Jinger's book is more solely refocused on religion than anything else. True? I read her previous book about her and her husband and that one was pretty boring to me.
The Winter Companion by Mimi Matthews - historical romance; 3 stars; this was the last book in the series (#4) and was my least favorite
Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett - historical fiction/fantasy; 3 stars; this was cute and disturbing but I don't think I am attached enough to the characters to bother continuing on with the series
Always You by Samantha Young - contemporary romance; 2 stars; this is the third book in the series and all three books are practically identical! Annoying.
QOTW: Late fall when it finally feels relatively cooler for Florida!
