ATLANTA (AP) — The Carter Center said Saturday that former President Jimmy Carter has entered home hospice care.
The charity created by the 98-year-old former president said on Twitter that after a series of short hospital stays, Carter “decided to spend his remaining time at home with his family and receive hospice care instead of additional medical intervention.”

His years of service with Habitat for Humanity are inspiring along with his wife's service too. That they have continued to help thru their 90s is amazing and selfless.

"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
I hope his days are filled with love from his family, comfort, and peace. He’s been an outstanding humanitarian and peace maker. If anyone has ever exemplified doing “God’s work”, it’s President Carter. 💕

@@ I walked to the Carter Center this morning and had a moment at the reflecting pool. He is a great man and has done a lot for humanity, especially toward eradicating diseases, like the guinea worm. His great grandson was in my daughter's class in elementary school, and Rosalynn came to read to the kids. He would pass out Halloween Candy sometimes at his Grandson's house when the kids were small. I wish he and his family peace. He has quite a legacy.
One of my earliest vague memories as a child was seeing him in St. Paul when I was 3 years old. I remember being on my dad's shoulders. He arrived off a riverboat and it was honking its horn and that scared me so I had my hands over my ears and wasn't able to touch his hand when he came by. It's weird what sticks with you.
He is an incredible human being. Sending love to him and his family.
