I hope the housekeeper's family has a way to get some of the money. If it was done through his law firm, can they sue the firm? What a piece of trash.

I also went into this thinking the wife was innocent, but I am pretty sure she was horrible too

They've been compensated fully. The Defense counsel (Dick Harpootlian) pointed this out during one of the cross examinations of him. It was an awful condescending and disgusting questioning even the court tv people were commenting on it. 

Random fact Dick Harpootlian (SC Democratic state Senator) is apparently good friends with Joe Biden.

I know nothing about the legal system and court cases, but can't a prosecutor cut off that nonsense. It's every.single.question.

I can't fucking believe it. I really didn't think the prosecution made the case cause he was allowed to just blather on and on and I got so worried.

Murdaugh took the stand and then — under oath — proceeded to admit to a whole slew of financial crimes. He admitted to stealing from 18 different clients, as well as embezzling from the family firm. Remember, he still faces 99 financial-related charges across 19 different indictments including fraud, attempted tax evasion, money laundering, embezzlement, breach of trust with fraudulent intent, obtaining signature or property by false pretenses, computer crimes, forgery, insurance fraud, and conspiracy to commit insurance fraud.

Carry the one… that’s 700+ years in prison he’s facing! Based on only 74 of the financial crimes he’s accused of, the South Carolina Attorney General’s office spokesperson said the potential amount in time in prison Murdaugh faces is 731 years. But don’t expect him to spend all 700+ years behind bars.

So glad, I feel the jury got it right. The evidence appeared damning. I read an article this AM with opinions of locals and they were majority thinking he was guilty and hoping for this verdict.

I wondered how the community felt. They had to be tired of seeing that family get away with so much.
