wildrice do you mind sharing (tomorrow) what show you saw? Enjoy!
I need a theatre buddy. My husband hates if. I have a good friend who goes to Broadway, and plays in our state, but always on school breaks when I have to work.
@professorartnerd that's so hard. What you said is so true. When DH's aunt passed another sister's ex husband (DH's other aunt) "offered" to take over the run down house (aka knock it down and sell the land. He hadn't been involved in years. People are disgusting.

My H is coming home from a work trip tonight. He's only been gone for 5 days. I miss him. I lived alone for most of my life, happily so. But now I miss his presence.
In other news, I'm lobbying for a new to me car. I want the same as what I have, but I want it fully loaded!
I follow Simone Biles on insta. She is totally over the top re her impending wedding. And I'm so here for it. Many photos! Multiple events! Everything embroidered! Wear white only and mini veils all year!
She's brought such joy and inspiration to so many people through gymnastics (at great personal cost). I adore that she's taking all this time celebrating her life OUTSIDE gymnastics.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
spindle92 , closets are done! Just posting one before and after because the other looks the exact same. Super happy to be done with this. It’s already so much more functional.

My partner just decided he’s going to visit a friend with the baby. I’m supposed to/want to go for a run, but sitting around the house without them around also sounds enticing I think it’ll take at least 40 min for them to get their in an Uber so I think I have a decent time alone. Also, tonight I’m on this panel at this film screening, so even more alone time!

It was actually an illusionist magic show - he mostly did card tricks with a lot of audience participation, which probably doesn't sound as impressive as it was. It was fun! He was really entertaining. We actually saw him a few years ago but due to COVID he changed up his show a lot so it was like a new experience.
As far as a theater buddy goes, we see lots of single patrons when I usher for the Broadway shows! It would not be weird at all to go alone if you don't have anyone to go with. If I wasn't ushering I would probably do that too - my H will join me for a show on occasion, but he doesn't like most musicals and it's so expensive to buy tickets that I wouldn't want to drag him along unless he wanted to be there. I know at least a couple of other people locally who will be interested in a show here and there, but nobody who would be up for just anything I wanted to go to. All of that (plus always looking for ways to save money!) led to me signing up to be an usher - I figure if I'm going to watch them alone anyway, I may as well do it for free!

You should definitely go to shows on your own then! No need to wait for someone to go with you. I love having hobbies that I do by myself

wildrice, glad you both had fun. DH and I watch Penn and Teller's Fool Us show (CW), which has a lot of close up magicians. I'm curious about the shows in a room the size of a living room. I think my DH would it love it.
One of my students was just talking g about volunteering to usher the shows on campus for a free ticket, I should look in to that. We have a good family friend/aunt who was paid to Usher at the Kennedy Center in DC too. She got a lot of free tickets as a bonus.
I'll look in to local shows by myself. Broadway is on my bucket list, but I'm a major country bumpkins and too nervous to navigate solo train or bus travel even if I meet a friend once in the city.

isabel that is beautiful! I had a built in like that in my first solo apt, but got lazy and let it overflow with junk. The adult in me would love to move a dresser from the main room, and have everything so organized.
Just found out summer band camp changed their weeks from the two weeks that it's always historically been. This, of course, conflicts with our planned vacation/other camp/care weeks. So, I've spent the morning unplanning and replanning our summer. It looks like it's going to work out ok, just a nuisance.
DH was going out to the specialty grocery store to pick up a few things so I asked him to pick up something to grill/cook for dinner. He just got home, came in and sheepishly said, I did something I shouldn’t have. I accidentally spent $76 on halibut at the fish counter. 🤦🏽♀️ Apparently it was $39/lb and the pieces he asked for ended up being heavier than they looked.
It’s enough for two full meals so I froze half of it, but still.
I spent yesterday helping my oldest (11) paint their room and give it a refresh. It was still the pink they chose when 5. It’s now a very muted/grayed out purple. They were all in on the project and did a good amount of work. I’m proud of them and we’re both happy with the end result.
I’m feeling every day of my 42.5 years today. Everything hurts.
isabel, that looks great! You did an amazing job and thank you for sharing the afters. I am weirdly obsessed with closet organizations and live seeing real ones.
I'm working on cleaning out our basement, day 2 of being down there and I'm exhausted. I don't know how we accumulated so much crap, plus my husband has all these random bags of paperwork/tools/electronics mixed with trash. He refuses to believe he has ADHD because he was tested as a kid 🙄
I can't wait to be done, I have PLANS for this space and I just want to be doing the fun organization part already!
Has anyone ordered from Bloomchic? I was eyeing some dresses.
I’m curious too! In the ads it looks like exactly what I want - but the reviews when I google don’t look great
I love the way a lot of their stuff looks. But the prices, while amazing, make me hesitant. I assume a $30 dress is probably poor quality and not ethically manufactured. I'd love to learn otherwise...
