So we just had this 3 panel glass slider installed at week. The room is a large open space about 16x24 and has a bathroom with closest access to the pool.
On the daily, we will use this large flex space as an office, my gym (my reformer is in there), with easy access for any day guests to use the bathroom when we entertain.
We also want to install a Murphy bed so it can be used as guest quarters. We don’t get guests very often aside from holidays and such so we don’t want to devote an entire space for minimal use.
Here’s the question - when we use it day to day, I don’t want the windows covered. I love the light the windows bring in. However, it is east facing and when we use it as guest quarters, I would be annoyed to be woken up at sunrise. Lol. What would you use as window coverings, if anything.
We also got a custom rod from here highlandforge.com/ because we had a pretty long span to cover and I wanted to be able to only have a single center bracket and a consistent diameter all the way across so that we could easily fully open and close the curtains, rather than piecing adjustable rod components together and potentially needing extra brackets to support it. The blackout lining also makes them very heavy so I wanted something rock solid. It was pricey - probably double what I would have spent for something off the shelf requiring 2 center brackets - but made the curtains more than just decorative.
