I am. Live, over the air. So no instant reply. But also know almost nothing about any of the movies this year. I was rather annoyed about the “jokes” in the into about diversity and inclusion being 5 actors from Ireland and that’s where this years fight will come from (paraphrased bc it was an hour ago, but still sticking with me for being cringe worthy)
We watched EEAAO on Saturday night. Good choice since we wanted to follow the Oscars lol.
Ke Huy Quan winning for supporting actor was so well deserved and also increadibly heart warming. I have watched his reaction several times and it just makes me really happy.
My only suprise was Jamie Lee Curtis. I thought there were better choices in that category, all though I am a big fan of JLC.
I like that there were a lot of actors who have been around for awhile getting recogonized. Big night for people who have put the time in and finally got the recognitition.
Also I find Brendan Fraser to be so endearing. The Whale is not a movie I will ever want to watch, but man it is nice to see him have this moment.

I think Jamie Lee Curtis would agree with you! Lol. She seemed genuinely surprised and taken aback.
I just could not get into it at all. I must be broken given how everyone else raves
Did you see it in a theater or at home? It’s such a weird and bizarre film that IMO really benefits from the focus of seeing it in a theater vs at home with distractions.

My H was confused by it and didn’t get it. I loved it! I wish we’d seen it in the theater. Maybe he was too distracted. I think you juts have to go with it and not think about it too much! I love Michelle Yeoh in everything she does, so I may have been biased. I’m so happy for her and the entire cast/crew! It’s also amazing considering how quickly they made the movie on a tiny budget. Just mind blowing!
I was completely lost the first half of EEAAO. The 2nd half totally redeemed it for me. I am not into sci fi and normally don’t enjoy movies that make me think to much lol. I loved when they came back around to tie it into more believable human connections.

Yes! I remember realizing half way through that the multiverse aspect of it was sort of a red herring: not the main plot but a tool to advance the family story. And I *love* how they did it.
Reading more about it and it blows my mind even more. The actual budget was only $15M! And apparently they originally wanted Jackie Chan to star in it and Michelle was the supporting character, but he turned it down! So they flipped it to make her the protagonist. I’m so glad, I loved Michelle as the main character.
My H watched EEAAO on the plane on the way to Hawaii. I looked over and he was just silently sobbing. Then the rest of the trip we’d be on the beach, he’d be looking out over the water all pensive, then just randomly burst out with “Jesus Christ that was such a good movie” with no lead up conversation at all. Lol.

At home on a laptop. That's pretty much my only option. Maybe that's the problem. It may be that I gave up halfway although my partner was still watching (and loved it) so I half paid attention to the rest.
We do have a theater with one screen. I'm sure they played it because Michelle yeoh is Malaysian, and there was a ton of pride here. I don't think the theater has been updated since 1983, so I doubt that would make a difference
I'll give it another go. He'd happily watch again.
