We have talked a lot about incorporating movement into our days (in lieu of focusing on weight). This article in the post talks about a study that found that having the mindset that we are moving in our daily life helps those other markers. And, I don’t think it mentioned weight once.
**** spoiler does talk about weight, but I hope not in an unhealthy way. Or at least getting there *******************************************************
and just for myself, I would like to add that it’s finally set in. Like, I still weigh myself every day (but that’s leftover from cancer - losing weight triggers that whole thing). But I am not focusing on my weight really at all (and I’m prepared to push back on my cardiologist if he goes in on my weight again). But instead, finding ways to do fun things that are not couch sitting. Like I started fencing again. It’s a fun activity that doesn’t feel like “working out”.

Thanks for the gift link. Great article! I truly believe a body at rest stays at rest, a body in motion stays in motion.
When I move my body I feel better and I move more. I love tracking my movement on my watch and when I'm moving a lot I tend to keep going. For example, Tuesdays are my long day in the office. I'll sometimes get home with less than 3,000 steps. I almost always plop myself on the couch for the night. Wednesdays I am able to move more throughout the day and when I get home I am like 90% more likely to take the dog for another walk.
All this to say--this article all made sense to me.
