Hi again! We leave next week for our trip and have 1 day to spend at MK with our 5yo DD. I have never been to Disney as an adult.
I saw that Genie+ goes on sale the night before at midnight and you can start booking rides at 7am day-of. Do I need to stay up until midnight to book genie+, or if I wake up at 6am can I get it then? I don’t want to risk it selling out (I’ve seen has happened a few times recently), but staying up until midnight the night before is not my idea of a good time. WWYD?
Also - happy to hear any genie+ tips for a first timer! We plan to mainly stick to fantasyland and Tomorrowland

There's no guarantees but...the few times it has sold out have been around 1-2pm. So the risk is small that it will sell out by 6am.
If you want to ride Peter Pan or Jungle Cruise, choose one of those first. I would personally choose Peter Pan because waiting in that standby line is torture. The other Fantasyland rides are relatively easy to get lightening lanes for.

How about Mine Train?
When my DD was 5, she and I both enjoyed Mine Train more than Peter Pan. DS is now 5 and he did not like Barnstormer last year so he probably would be ok to not ride Mine Train either.
jordylee, I did not bother with the Genie+ on our spring break trip last year. My DS (age 4 then) was a handful so I couldn't be tied to my phone while also handling him at 7 am. I decided we would ride whatever was available whenever we made it to the parks. On our MK day, DS and I did a bunch of rides in Tomorrowland and Fantasyland starting around 8 pm because everyone was busy watching the fireworks. We got on plenty of rides at Epcot but we did not do the Ratatouille ride or the Frozen ride since the regular lines were very long. Genie+ probably would have helped for those and I may look into it next time for them.
You're fine booking Genie + when you get up in the morning, I'd book it for around 6:45 so you have enough time to get your first ride selection for 7AM.
sent - Mine Train is not a Genie + selection, unfortunately it is the individual LL purchase. I am not sure if that will be changing now with Tron.
Regarding Genie+, watch some Mammoth club YouTube videos, she was great at explaining how to use it!
