I love the blooming! Crocuses, daffodils, tulips, forsythia, bluebells. We did a cherry blossom picnic field trip this week on what was peak, and it was a perfect day. 😊🌸
I’m reading An Unkindness of Magicians by Kat Howard — actually a reread, but I don’t remember much. The sequel is being released soon.
QOTW: the light and the colors — having more daylight, seeing all the shades of green, watching the flowers emerge. Weather-wise I just want summer to get here already, but I do like watching all the changes.
Recently finished Georgie, All Along. It was good, not spectacular. Started in on A Court of Thorns and Roses. Gotta see what the hype is about!
QOTW: I love the first days it actually gets WARM here and everyone is outside. It tends to snow again a few times, but for a moment it feels like winter is finally over 🤣
I finished A Kind Worth Saving. It was fine. I rated it 3 stars but keep feeling like I should go back and up it to 4 just to reward them for not including any nonsensical twists.
Now I'm reading Swashbucklers by Dan Hanks. This one is a lot of fun. I think I originally heard about it from someone here, so thank you to whoever that was!
QOTW: I really enjoy all the outdoor events. We actually have two to go to tomorrow.

I just finish The family next door by Sally Hepworth- 4 stars
Currently reading The Perfect Child by Lucinda Berry- not bad so far
QOTW- I like spring because everything starts to green up and the temps in the 70’s are perfect but unfortunately they don’t last that long before the hot and humidity torture us for months….

Finished Troy and Arrow to the Moon; I really liked them!
Still reading The Light Pirate and and it's a tough one. Too much trauma.
Started Babel, Daughter of the Moon Goddess and When Fox is a Thousand. Babel has a real Dickensian vibe to it that I'm digging. Daughter of the Moon Goddess is fun after Arrow to the Moon since they're both based around the Chang'e and Hou Yi mythology. When Fox is a Thousand is very lyrically written and combines the story of a woman in ancient China, a young woman in modern Vancouver and a fox spirit who seems to transcend time.
QOTW: what's your favorite thing about Spring? I'm a color person, so for me, I love the green of spring. It's the greenest time of year!
I finished-ish The Great Circle by Maggie Shipstead. There was probably a really great 300-page book in there, but unfortunately it was 600 pages. Way too long. I skipped large chunks of the last 250 pages and don't really feel like I missed much. It was a good concept but not sure I'd recommend it.
Moving on to Mad Honey by Jodi Picoult. I'm doing an audible trial and listening to it. I like it but as the parent of a teenage boy who is starting to become more closed off and teenager-y, it freaks me out.
In other book news, I'm going to book reading this week of Jeannette Walls (Glass Castle) and I am pretty excited about it.
