We leave on Friday for DW (squee! We have been planning this for so long and I am so excited!) I see that this coming weekend is the Springtime Surprise Run weekend. What does this mean in terms of the parks? What should I expect or plan for? Thanks for any advice you may have -

I’ve done wine and dine and Princess. I think the biggest thing (besides possible increased crowds) is traffic changes on the long run days. It might not be too bad since the longest distance for Springtime Surprise is 10 miles, but expect that the long run day (usually Sunday) may take a little longer to get around because of road closures very early in the morning. If you’re a rope drop family, it may have an impact on you.

The races start at 5:30am (gross). They start and end outside of Epcot. If you are staying at an Epcot area resort, you will have noise and runners each morning.
Saturday morning is the 10K. the course runs through Epcot and the Epcot area resorts (Boardwalk, Beach Club, Yacht Club, Swan, Dolphin. The cutoff time is around 9am, when the park opens. If you are staying at one of those resorts or heading to Epcot, you may need to budget a little more time to get around. Disney does a great job accommodating both runners and guests and making sure guests can get where they need to go. The other parks should not be affected at all.
Sunday is the 10Miler. The course runs through Epcot, those same resorts, and Hollywood Studios, and then along the highway back to Epcot. The course cutoff is around 10am. So if you go to HS that morning for rope drop again, budget more time, the very back of the pack might still be in the park. All runners should be cleared out of Epcot though before park open.
Generally though, there should be very minimal effect.

This is so helpful. We are staying at the Poly. On Saturday we have reservations at MK so we should be ok. Sunday we have reservations for HS so it sounds like we should leave extra time in the morning to get there. Thank you!!
