OK, now Costa Rica Caribbean side

Thank you all for the fantastic Africa suggestions -- I've got all your ideas put together, we're chatting with people who have been there, have a list of tour companies and are working on planning that trip.

Now. My brother and SIL are going to Costa Rica for his 40th in September, and they invited us along. I think we're going to decline and then surprise him (SIL is in on this!). We're staying on the Caribbean side and pretty far south I think -- the Puerto Viejo area. Most of the suggestions I've read here are for other places in Costa Rica. Does anyone have any must-do recommendations for this area? I'm pretty sure we're going to see sloths at a sanctuary, taste chocolate, and go to Tortuguero park and hopefully see wee sea turtles which is pretty much my dream, but I also saw things like hot springs and jaguars so maybe I can dream bigger?
