We are planning a trip to DL and I was wondering if it's worth it to use a Disney travel agent ? I know that people tend to use them for DW but I wasn't sure if they are useful for DL.
I guess my answer would depend on what you're wanting to accomplish while you're there. If you're wanting a bunch of dining reservations it might be helpful but if not, I don't know that it would be that helpful over just booking on your own. It's such a breezier trip than DW.
This is perfect! The extent of my planning will be rope drop then try to ride as many rides as we can before my kids get cranky 😂
If you're staying on property, I suggest checking lines at the monorail station at downtown Disney. We were there in October, and we could be at the monorail at 8:15 and walking onto Space Mountain at 8:30 when the park opened because it drops you right in Tomorrowland.
I don’t think you need a TA for Disneyland (but I also don’t think they’re necessary for WDW either lol).
I’m a Disneyland local passholder and it’s a much different ballgame than WDW. It’s a lot smaller, table service dining isn’t a big deal, etc. so not much you need to reserve ahead if time.
Hotel and park reservations and tickets is all you really need .
I'm a travel agent who specializes in Disney. It really doesn't matter if you use one or not, but they are free to you. Disney builds in their commission into your price either way, if you use one or not, so therefore I'd use one just to not give Disney any more of my money then need be. They keep it if no travel agent was used. Travel agents can be as involved or hands off as you wish, just communicate your wishes. The only thing that really needs to be done through them is any payments. That said, reach out if you'd like any help!

This is our approach too. We love DCA and can get in at least 13 rides in the first two hours (with the exception being if we want to do radiator springs). You will have fun!
As long as you aren’t dying to get specific sit-down meals at specific times, DL is easy. Rope drop and lightning lane and you can easily ride everything.
Costco usually has good packages. We’ve stayed on site a few times, but otherwise my preference is just any of the hotels on S Harbor, within a couple blocks of the crosswalk entrance. We’ve stayed at most of them and they’re all decent, so I usually just pick whatever is cheapest for that particular time.
We had passes last year and made at least 8 trips with only a hotel/park reservation. We’ve done Goofy’s for a character meal a few times, and once a parade reserve meal, which both book out quite a bit, but never plan anything else. We just show up and see where Mickey leads us. Lol.
