I'm watching the clock but just saw that SCOTUS has given itself until midnight to rule on the Mifeprestone case. So there may be hours more to wait.
I don't really know what to expect. I mean, they've been terrible about a lot of things, but on the other hand I don't think they really want to back up an opinion that relies on Wikipedia.

The longer they draw it out, the more I’m convinced they are going to continue to degrade rights. If they want this to fly under the radar as much as possible, they’ll wait until late in the day, which is not a good sign.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”

I have a very bad feeling about this. And not only is this awful for human rights, but it also sets such a bad precedent to allow the court to overrule medical care in any capacity.
I just don’t understand how they could uphold this decision. Forget about it undermining the FDA or it being downright ridiculous, nonsensical, and it not based in fact and law, let’s start with the legal basics like standing!!

If they uphold this, I have no faith in the court system at all anymore. It's absolutely messed up that one random judge can decide that science isn't science based on the weakest and most biased sources. This is just dumb. Blah.
Here's WaPo on Alito: "Alito said the administration and the public would not have been harmed by agreeing with the lower court to roll back restrictions loosened by the FDA in recent years." <--- more proof that "the public" apparently doesn't include women or anyone who can get pregnant.
