I'm planning a trip for October 2024. I've never stayed on property, so I've never used the dining plan. Does it apply for nights that you're at the hotel, or park days? I'm wondering if it applies on arrival day and the rest day I have planned.

Also, are character meals included? I want to book Cinderellas Royal Table, and Tusker House for this trip.

You get a certain number of credits-Table Service, QS, Snacks, etc. And you can use those any day of your trip. So if you want two table service meals in day, and then all quick service the next day, it's up to you how you distribute them. I believe you have to buy it based on the number of nights (but they apply to any day of your trip). 

In the past there are different levels of plans-the more expensive ones have more table service credits. You have been able to use them for character meals in the past BUT they sometimes require more than 1 credit. IE Cinderella's table was 2 table service credits I believe. So you just have to plan accordingly.

FYI the snack allotment is very generous, and many substantial items count as a snack-it's not just a pretzel or popcorn. So some days you can use your snack credits to build up enough food for a meal if you spend your table service credits on character meals. Most people wind up with a lot of snack credits left up at the end to use.

I'm so excited about this. I know it probably costs more than if we priced out meals individually, but I loved having it all paid for up front. I wish it was starting in 2023.

same!  we are going in Oct 2023 and I really wish we had this option.
