I just finished This Bird Has Flown by Susanna Hoffs. I never read romance but I was a huge fan of The Bangles* back in the day so I decided to give it a shot. I actually enjoyed it much more than I had expected I would. Most of my issues with it were more related to the formulaic nature of the genre than her writing. I'd recommend if someone is looking for something fun and light.
QOTW: I guess my favorite would be cooking but only because it leads to tasty food. I have a million least favorites but if I had to settle on one it would be doing the floors.
I didn't read anything to get excited about this week. I finished:
The Cuban Heiress by Chanel Cleeton, 3.5* (interesting in the beginning, but found the last 10% boring)
Code Name Verity by Eliabeth Wein 3* (disliked the first part, but the 2nd part was more interesting)
Currently reading A Curious Beginning by Deanna Raybourn (I'm currently on the fence as to whether or not I should DNF it or not).
QOTW:I absolutely love Spring Cleaning! I can nerd out on cleaning hacks, cleaning and organization products, etc. I probably dislike cooking the most.
Just started One True Loves by Taylor Jenkins Reed.
QOTW: My favorite is leaving a very clean secondary bathroom but my least favorite is cleaning the master bath, particularly the stand up shower with glass enclosures.

Finished American Mermaid and A Song Below Water. American Mermaid was good, but weird. A Song Below Water was interesting, there's a sequel in which the villain is the main character and I'm debating about whether I want to read it or not because of how much I dislike her.
Started reading The Salt Grows Heavy, which is also really really weird. And dark. It begins with a mermaid (with legs) leaving a kingdom in which her daughters have eaten every resident with the kingdom's plague doctor. And it continues along those lines.
Started listening to The Deep, which is based on a Clipping song I love. In the song, pregnant women thrown off of slave ships give birth to children who can breathe underwater and create a whole community there. Daveed Diggs narrates, so I'm hoping it's as great as the song.
QOTW: what are you favorite and least favorite household chores? my favorite is probably making meals, because there's such a sense of accomplishment in the task. I hate putting away clothes because we don't have enough closet or dresser space in my room which is TINY because old house.
