Justice Alito thought it was a good idea for a SCOTUS justice to pen a WSJ op-ed to get ahead of a Pro Publica article. He argues that a seat on a chartered flight wasn’t a gift because if his ass wasn’t in that seat it would have just been EMPTY (the horror).
For being SCJs, these conservatives sure have piss poor judgment.
And this realization has has actually brought a lot of clarity as to why I now have less right to protect my uterus from unwanted intruders than I do my backyard.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
Meanwhile, my ass has to find someone to pay $5 if I take a coffee break with a group. And I use to work with people who would insist that you out out a cup for payment if you brought donuts to a meeting.
For being SCJs, these conservatives sure have poor judgment.
No, they don’t. They just think they are above the law. They know they did wrong. They knew it at the time. They also knew it didn’t matter.
It's not even a law. None of this was codified because (like what much of what Trump trampled) it was commonly understood that Justices that did this (if caught) would resign. We (the citizens and government structure) assumed that common decency and decorum would stop this. Technically, what all these assholes are doing is still legal.

Except transportation was an area that was very clearly spelled out that had to be reported, at the time the charter flight in question happened. For much of this stuff, you're right that there's a bunch of grey area (at best) but transportation was clear.
