Meanwhile in Texas, gov has prevented cities from giving shade and water breakers in cities that required it.

This is not at all to give a pass to Dubai, but that there's a race to the bottom and workers will suffer and die

(not defending abbott) For clarity, he has blocked a law REQUIRING shade and water breaks. He hasn't prevented the cities or others to provide it - just blocked the cities from requiring employers to provide it. Still bullshit.

And let's add to Abbott's disgusting moves - his border agents have been ordered NOT to give water to dehydrated migrants, to push them back into the water, and to use barbed wire and huge floating balloon blockades with spikes on them to keep people from crossing the Rio Grande into Texas.
